    Well thats 23 tickets so far so this should be one hell of a turn out. When do they need to know how many cars and so on are gonna be there for the club space as wont know for a couple weeks if were going up in 2 or 3 cars?

    My cousin works in a bodyshop and they charge 45 a wheel to refurb them and paint them so if its your mate that owns it im guessing he will do them cheaper so i would go the paint route.

    Hopefully there's now a few more from down my way so we can convoy up. My mates that came last year in the beetle will be coming again as long as that's ok plus they will be bringing another golf (mk4 style though) so that's 3 cars to add to the many that will be there this time. Was good to meet everyone at the last meet so hopefully will meet a few more people at this one.

    Would likely be up for this as long as im not working. Just thought id throw a few ideas in. Used to do a few meets with my old forum, used to to treck up onto the moors in plymouth through to princetown and stop off at the ploom of feathers which for those that dont know it do some good pub grub. Then a treck further up on to the moors for a few photo oppertunities and come out at tavistock. Used to be a good route and a good day out. Could also look at making it a christmas meet for a roast for us southern lot that cant make the club christmas meet further up the line.

    Yea done all the above checks. Getting 12.24 volts from the battery then when started I'm getting just below 14 volts. I'm getting a clicking sound now so pretty sure the solenoid on the starter has had it.

    Right slight update. Have just put my charged battery back in the car and still it wont start. everything else works like windows etc and the car tries to start but slowly like its dead? Thinking it has to be a loose connection somewhere or maybe a bad earth. Really starting to bug the crap out of me lol

    Havent heard the fans staying on and dont have anything but a cd player so cant be that? Puzzled? lol

    Is there an easy way to check to find out whats kiling my battery. Have checked the battery when running and the alternator is charging the battery but after about 4 weeks after a full charge the battery is dead again. Have bought another battery and the same happens so its not the battery? Cheers Darren

    Mines on 200k mate and seems to be doing ok. Only problems are the ancillaries that tend to go. Ive just replaced my gearbox and a couple weeks later my alternator has gone lol. Doing really well on fuel too getting about 200 miles to 30 quid using for work. Just shows how strong they are.

    Big thanks to Tony for helping us out with a gearbox. He even delivered it to my house in plymouth from kent, now thats dedication! Cheers bud Im sure he's helped many of people out in a simmular situation and thought he deserved a thanks on the forum.

    Pretty sure you remove the cups by undoing a bolt in the middle of the cup once the driveshafts off mate.

    Cheers Tony, Not desperate but pretty stuck without my car. Gonna pull the box out of mine this weekend so its out and ready for another to go in. Work are also making redundency's so my money situation could get worse! Lol Fuc#ing cars!

    Somethings up with first gear mate. Basically you get a clicking noise when you pull away in first gear. all other gears are fine. Thinking maybe the syncro? Doesnt sound healthy though.

    Its the cheapest i could get down here and there was alot worse. Having problems sourcing a box at the moment as have very little money and the cheapest down here again is 455 plus VAT for a reconditioned box. Really struggling for cash but also really stuck without my car! had to walk the 71/2 miles back home in the rain yestreday and was soaked through lol after walking for an hour and half. :-(
