  3. i would like to remove all the aircon pipes and goodies and the aircon pump, which belt is needed to replace the longer one? why? i dont use aircon every in the 12 years i have owned vr's
  4. this is my first turbo conversion UM, what would you rec? my turbo is a Garret T4, AR .63 with uprated "stage 5" compressor wheel... the intercooler im looking at getting is a 300x150x60 <- is this too small?
  5. UM - that is a great price!! im looking for either: 3.1mm or 3.6mm also would i have any issues with pulling the head down? are the nM still the same as if i would do a normal head?

  9. Hi gents, got myself another vr but currently trying to put her right, done a service on her, its a 1994 6pin Maf jetta vr6... pics to come. Problems: 00258 - Solenoid Valve 1 (N88) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00260 - Solenoid Valve 2 (N89) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00262 - Solenoid Valve 3 (N90) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00264 - Solenoid Valve 4 (N91) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00266 - Solenoid Valve 5 (N92) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00270 - Solenoid Valve 7 (N94) 36-00 - Open Circuit 00518 - Throttle Position Sensor (G69) 16-00 - Signal
  10. not sure how you fellas do this but im running BMW pistons with a little higher .cr , its been tested and tried many times round our parts and the cost works out to around £100 , another alternative is using the Nissan sr20 DET pistons which is 84mm, and the BMW pistons is 83.5mm, my previous vr6 was running the nissan pistons at 84mm. the one im busy with is more a 3L+ using the BMW pistons. you have to machine the pistons as well to clear, about 3mm on each of them and the crank is a 2.9L vr crank. the crank is polished and big ends and mains are 20 thou oversize, using OEM parts.

  12. gruvenparts pulley kit cams - hoping on a 268 or 276 head will be worked completely uprated gearbox thats about it really.... might save for a SC one day but all in due time, just getting the motor together is my first priority
  13. that is a 3.1 block im busy with , no body yet busy building up the motor on a stand for the moment. more updates to come.

  16. Hows everyone been keeping, been a mighty long time since i've been on here.. my latest = in the process of getting myself another vr, currently busy with a 3.1 motor build and mk4 gti gearbox, once the motor is done i will go out and look for a donor. keep well lads

  20. Hi gents, im cleaning out my yard and sold some springs to a mate of mine, he says my springs (the black ones) doesn't fit the cap above like his (red) does. is the black ones vr6 rear springs? thanks pics, the black springs is the ones i sold him, the red ones are his springs...
  21. the answer: there is an O-RING in the expansion tank cap, it will be worn, i had the EXACT same issue and after many days of fitting and refitting things i found it out. check it out and update!
