  1. It was a big of rust on the kill switch after all that, missed a whole night of booze because of that Anyhoo, now do to 12.38@110mph, with the same sort of power as Dave Lea BUT he is getting better terminals of around 115mph, I cannot help think that mk3 is a little more aero dynamic than a mk2
  2. Wasn't racing at Action as I was saving it for European Finals, where I managed to clock 12.38@110mph Now roll on the National Finals next weekend 21/22 sept at Santa Pod, I go into the finals No.1 in the points, fingers crossed I can bring home the trophy
  3. Awash, the 4wd caddy owner, your truck was awesome dude, hope you do look into racing with the VWDRC
  4. What an awesome weekend, hope everyone enjoyed it and BIG up to you all for going mad when I shouted you out, the bank banter is always appreciated See you all at GTI Festival
  5. Round 6 of the VWDRC Championship, Open Sports Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway was this weekend, We arrived with the plan of putting the car back into limp mode as the cut off for my class VW Sportsman is 13.00, so initially just disconnected the cam sensor, but after one run we realised this will put the car in limp mode but not the same map we had before as this was no an open circuit not missing a sensor. So we decided to go back to Bug Jams tune where we backed the rev limiter to 5.5k, qualifying didn't go quite to plan, as we were not consistent enough but did get more data each
  6. Never mind, thought has passed
  7. Last years winner Don Octane from Germany will be returning with his Polo R30 that has now run down to 8.8's and he is also bringing his new Mk3 race car, along with Mario Thau and his crazy FWD polo that runs 9.4's, Udo Becker and Peter Bang from the Aircooled side that are also 9' second cars. Then we have all the UK contingent, Paul Jordan, Dannie Highman, Russ Fellows to name a few,
  8. Does the VR6oc get any discount on places that insure caddy vans
  9. You can put as much power in there as you want but if it ain't gonna grip your just wasting money. Get a set of slicks and you will never look back, your ET is made in the 1st 60ft, your gonna struggle getting some slicks for 17" wheels though, as its 13"s or 15"s which are the popular choice. Some 24"/8"/15 will work well and drop a second of your Et. I know of some 22.5"/8"/15 for sale, there not the perfect size for your setup, probably a bit small sidewall but as a trial the might be worth it, he's after £200 used. Or a new set is gonna cost you about 380-450. One of the VWDRC guys was ru
  10. Intact, ignore the last comment, we now have a 12.71 second mk2 ALL MOTOR baby
  11. The place has needed tlc forever BUT with a show like this they might be able to, they are limited to stuff they can do. But anything they do, do will benefit you and us racers, strip was poor but we expected that, treaded tyres always ruins any prep done Fingers crossed they hold it there next year, as I've never seen shakey so full, and I loved it
  12. This is what the VWDRC have on offer for you
  13. Cheers bud, yeah that's the down side of a track car, poor clutch's 1st port of call was a 13 second run and has been treated with the same love and care for the last 2 months
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111092147975&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en What's anyone think of this
  15. Obviously I only abuse my clutches and this LUK one I fitted at Big Bang was slipping today, (reakon I've done 30 miles lol) Should I bite the bullet and get an updated clutch or keep at it with the stock ones, they are supposedly good for 300hp and I'm only about 200hp, Again it will abused from the word go, but would be nice to get more than 3 events out of it
  16. All should go, it's always an awesome weekend, we will be putting on a good showing too, fingers crossed Mario will be over again and also Michael will be brining his R36 Turbo Mk2 over from Denmark too
  17. Not very by the results I'm getting
  18. Not so much a skim but shave a lot off, can it not work like that, I.e lower compression add a spacer plate, raise it take a chunk off. Proper redneck tuning lol were talking 1 or 2 hp here btw, just finding each and every one that's hidden Ah well was sumit suggested to me, thought I would investigate it
  19. I'm going to replace the head gasket on my Vr and am thinking about getting the head skimmed, possibly skimmed a lot to raise the compression. Anyone done this before and gained a little extra power, if so how much did you take off?
  20. Right I'm IN Where do I send the deposit, intact can I send the whole payment via PayPal? Got to much Monopoly money ATM Also it's it 2 back to back pulls or if there's an issue can I take it off play and have another go later. (Here's secretly hoping its missing power lol, although I have a very bad record on rolling roads)
