hi all, more issues with the Rado turbo! i should know VR ownership is never simple!
as in title, cruising along engine temp gauge drops to 75-80, sat in traffic they go through the roof 120 plus. the fan works its currently set to come on at 95 and off at 90 but doesnt cool enough. changed blue temp sensor and the yellow one for dashboard gauge, still the same. the car has aftermarket radiator and pacet sucking fan (which is a good make?) not sure what model as i need to remove it to see part number but its the largest that will fit, i have tried to measure and its about 13"s. on the website their 13 inch fans are on par with spall and kenlowe for cfm.
could it be stat related? my old golf had stat issues, it didnt get warm and ran rich till it was changed (stuck open i assume?) could this be the opposite?
all help and suggestions gratefully received.

hi mate, you cant map either ODB1 or 2 via that port and i believe the 1 doesnt even have one? the chip needs to be pulled and reflashed. vince at stealth (http://stealthracing.co.uk/) is recommended but you will need to visit after each major mod £250-300 a pop! otherwise go standalone £500-1200 (megasquirt - lugtronic PNP)

Hi, I have spongy brakes, the system has been bled and new fluid. I have wilwood 6 pots non abs. I have been reading and the audi s2 is 25 mm has anyone done this?

Hi, I sent all the details to Melinda McKay on the 17th of June, the last I heard she was sending them to equity red star then nothing. I understand and would pay something but a final demand of £117 was to much.

Hi, i have an outstanding issue with your company in regards to what I believe is unfair cancellation fees. Basically I have cancelled my insurance with your company and am still expected to pay 90% of the premium for 5 months cover.
I approached you in regards to changing cars and after emails detailing my requirements I heard nothing back, I was forced into taking another policy with another firm.
I expect to pay something just not what your asking, total policy £335, paid £190 you now want another £117. To me that's unfair, especially when I'm referred to page 27 of t&c's, hence my post of read the small print.

Hi, it looks like the ICM has been removed and it's wired direct to the emerald ecu. I am goin to try this fix with a ford pack.

Also the base where it connects to the engine block isn't the same?

Hi all, changed my plugs the other day and got rid of my full boost stutter, got in it today and it's only running on 4! After speaking to a mate I found the 2 cylinders back right and front left took the lead off and put a plug in, swapped leads around and it looks like the coil is fubard'd. It doesn't look like a standard, I am running an emerald ecu.
Can anyone identify it?

Wow, not seen that before. MK4 should be a W Reg, but not registered till 2005 according to DVLA and a 2 litre?
i would steer clear as it has my alarm bells ringing!

sorry, im talking about a pyrometer its in the exhaust manifold before the turbo, not engine temps, exhaust gas temps.

Hi All, trying to get and idea of what EGT's people are running?
i have been fiddling with the ECU on mine as i was getting AFR of 12.5-14 while cruising, i am now getting close to stoich but my EG temp is up around 850-900c, is this right?
any guidance gratefully appreciated.

Hi, as title suggests I currently have a pacet 13 inch (pull),and it's not cutting the mustard, 120+ C if idling for more than 20 mins.
Can anyone give me a real world comparison as I'm looking to change/update it?
Are mishimoto any good? Any other recommendations?

I run BKR7E in my charged VR.....and they are gapped to .24
Are they bkr7e 11? Only bkr7e's I can find are for a mid nineties Jag? I'm guessing it's just a revision number? Got 6 of the jag ones for £13 delivered from the bay.
What's the lifetime? Been reading and people are saying 6-10k at most?

Hi, definitely 2ndary pump, how do you mean by buzzing? engine on or off? you normally hear it when you turn off the engine i read somewhere it can run on for upto 10 mins after a run. i have known a few who bypass it when it goes wrong as they are about £100, i wouldnt personally and didnt when mine went tits up! how hot does your engine get (coolant wise)? if your fiddling be careful of the lower hose connection as its plastic and can get brittle.
