  1. You need to get the shell off the back to get to the mirror clips to get it off, this part IMHO is not easy atall and you risk breaking the glass. A new drivers glass is getting on for £50 from VW garages, so I dont see the point. Maybe go to a VW garage and give them your registration, they can tell you what you have on the car from that information.
  2. I wouldnt take the mirror off if I was you, nightmare IMHO, leave well alone! My std VR6 has heated mirrors on it by the way
  3. Jees thats bad luck Ben , but to be honest I think thats a load of old twoddle m8. I cant see this being the problem, I think the bolts are suspect and probably from the wrong grade steel. But glad you got it sorted out anyway.

  10. I ve had exactly the same problem, the wheel weight was catching the caliper. Got an angle grinder on the caliper and all is fine now. I had put new pads and discs on and this made the difference. Ian

  13. 24 mpg here, not suprising I suppose I got 300 miles from a tank... once. I do thnk I get more using super unleaded, but that may well be in my head
