    Had my VR for about 2 months now, done 3 thousand miles, and had the time of my life driving it. The torque, the power, the handling, the solid feel of the car........... and the recaro's, mmmmm Last week on bank holiday, there was a loud clunk, followed by smoke from the bonnet. I turned it off, popped the bonnet, and found the waterpump had seized solid :S Bastardo. Had to get a £25 taxi for parts, then 3 hours in the rain to fit it.     Guys, I have just painted my front and rear VW badges in black pearl (looks awesome), but I now wantt to do my front and rear VR6 badges in red, and the rear golf in black. How easy are the tailgate items to remove? Just be careful with a butterknife and flat driver, or are they held on otherwise??

    Had a right 'mare before!! Picked up oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, and get oil. "only take me an hour or so" I tell the wife as I drop her off shopping. How wrong could I be? OK, so I fit the air filter first. Had to remove the MAF pipe from either end so I could get the top of the airbox. A little trickier than it looked. That took me about 20 mins. Job done. Next, you guys says not to use an engine flush, so I decided to drain the oil whilst hot so it runs off easier. I ran into probems right away. Jack doesnt fit under the car :S So, finds a brick to drive onto. J

    Are they really necessary? I checked one lead on my VR by just pulling gently on it and it came off

    Guys, if I leave my car running on the spot, the temp goes up to half way on the gauge. However, whilst driving, it drops down to the 70-80 degree mark. Is it possible its been removed to cure an over heating problem in the past?

    Yeah, tends to make the engine lean around. Bottom arm bushes? You really need to get under with a bar and have a fiddle with things

    My ABS had a god damn fit lastnight!! It sucks balls in the snow. Locked up, pedal to the floor out of utter fear, with it feeling like a brass band under my pedal, and still sliding downhill towards a T junction........ with a red light. Captain Brown-Pants?? Indeedy
