  3. i know the pepper pot front end prob Jim, i broke my front grill when doing my engine,got a new one and took some time doing it, and hey,it looked liked someone who knew what they where doing did it. i was well chuffed with the result so im gonna attempt the whole front bumper, and the wing may get done by a pro as some kind person keyed it for the second time. people where i live dont like anyone else having something nice ,make me wish i had bought a sleeper instead.

  5. are they specific 12v vr6 forged turbo pistons ? what power are they rated to ? what sort of waranty ? Ireland to uk shipping is not cheap or local . are you going to offer vr6oc members a special deal ?

  7. i know the crank pulley bolt problem only too well i had two scaffold bars and about 18 stone on either end,and it still took forever. but that loud crack,when it finally gives is so rewarding
  8. this is where it starts to cost a bit, a strong g/box is over a grand. and the lsd is around £600+ below 300hp,you can get away without the need for these extras,but above 300 its money time.
  9. wasnt my fault last time the oil just didnt like being on the inside of the engine. i still cringe at the ten times my name was called out at pod thanking me for oiling lane 1 up. wont be for a while, got a thousand miles of 50mph tops to bed the new pistons in. back on topic. r32 project........ i wonder
  10. the engine bays on those 32`s are all mint, they really put mine to shame. and 715 bhp of useable power, i just hope im never in the next lane at pod with one of those monsters.

  12. ask if the seller sells regular to anyone in uk and try to see if you cant pay them and do it that way.if you paypal them you will have some cover. wierd that an ebayer doent take paypal. if they are so fussed about charges maybe offer to pay them yourself and see if that works,cost a bit more i know but you need some form of protection with foreign companies.

  15. also, you should budget for a full set of arp rods/bolts for the rods/main/head. they pay for themselves in the long run.
  16. soz pal but if you only have 280-300hp then both those cars will still beat you, harsh but the truth. correct on the fact of low comp pistons replaces the need for a spacer gasket,just get a decent triple layer metal head gasket ( elring do a good un for £32 ) . but ,all the work you are saying you will do with a gt30 will see you over 400hp anyway.then yes you will beat those two cars my crank is standard as are most turbo vr`s. i suggest a gt3076r with an .82 housing for perfect results.
  17. not sure if 3rd is weak as a rule or not, but its prob to do with high boost being there by the time your into 3rd and the poor old standard cogs just cant cope with the extra power. mine were strenghened and shot peened and i have had no probs yet,and i drive very hard most of the time as the car only comes out for mad ones and 1/4 miles, so well worth looking into. allthough if you run around 270-280hp then i would see how it goes as it may be strong enough for that power.
  18. good point Kev about 3rd gear on turbo vr`s. you WILL !! break 3rd gear with a 350+ hp vr6. no questions at all. i broke 2 in the first month of owning it. if you go f/i over 350bhp you WILL need to strenghthen the gears especially 3rd or get the whole box toughened up. and an lsd will help out bigtime too. but the main point is 3rd gear on a turbo vr will break if big power goes through it.
