  1. have you checked your coilpack for cracks? It could be that. Or possibly your maf might need a clean... Start with those first. If no joy let us know.
  2. ohhh yes... takes a lot of time, effort and money to get our cars to the condition they are....
  3. Yeah totally straightforward.... bit of wd40 the night before to make it easier, then jack it up, wheel off then if it has 2 rings you need to crack open the lower one first as thats the one that locks it, then adjust the other one to where you want it and do the first one up again... simples.
  4. oh really... ppl are so unreasonable sometimes... whiplash is a tough thing to prove as a fake, but i think you'll be ok considering there was no damage to either car.... I got hit at 55 mph from behind and wrote of my car, their car was heavily damaged and also the one in front of me... i was in hospital and couldnt walk unassisted or go without a brace for 2 weeks, 6 years on and im still in pain every day and cannot do things i should be able to... i claimed and got 3 grand... not really enough as its f**ked me for life. Point is that was a genuine claim and i had check up after check up by

  8. i pay 580 with sky insurance, they support the forum and lowered their quote to match the lowest i had found. Im 24 been driving 7 years, 7 years no claims, no convictions. All mods declared. Pretty much the same postcode... Give them a try...
  9. oooooh i like them.... along similar lines to mynext plan...
  10. haha, lovin it, im gonna pop up and see you soon, seeing as i have helped with some of ur inspiration!! lol
  11. my f**kin god, can you not contact the guy direct and try to settle this outside of insurance cuz if he demands that goes thru and ruins your no claims id be amased!! There is no need for it to go through them for that amount, he's just being unreasonable. if he wont settle out of insurers id be in 2 minds to paint stripper his car and give him something to really claim for!! haha (but obv im not saying you should!!)
  12. what is the invoice for then and how much?? did they charge him for the inspection or something?? and no, dont worry, it wont show up unless they actually pay out money to this guy on your behalf.... if no claim goes through and no money is paid nothing will show up and you will retain your no claims bonus.
  13. yeah it could be, you could always check the sensors on the wheels, make sure they arent lose or something.... check the fluid level and switch first, if its not that then stick it on vag com cuz maybe the fault on the abs is intermittent so might not always show when you plug it in.
  14. a claim can only be made to pay for damage that was caused, if there is no damage to repair then no claim will be paid. you only lose your no claims if your insurance company have to pay out money on your behalf.... does the letter say what he is claiming for???
  15. no worries, im sure it will be one of those two, only other thing is an abs fault, but i would imagine your abs light would come on first... i am unfortunate enough to have both on!! bloody thing!! lol
  16. It can be your fluid level, check the brake fluid bottle and make sure its got enough in it, or also if the float has popped out of the top.... Or could be your hand brake swtich, located under the handbrake, give your handbrake a move around and see if that makes it flicker or not.... let us know if it works or not...
  17. ahh sorry, the ISV is on the OBD1 the OBD2 has the trottle body controlling the idle (i believe) have a good look round the coillpack just incase and check the leads are all seated properly and not lose... let us know how you get on....
