i cant remember the polisher i brought cuz i havent really had chance to use it, i tried it out on one patch but didnt touch the swirls so gave up... Ive used more detailing products than i care to remember.... ive got the Menzerna polishing pads and polishes, but they weren't enough to get rid of the swirls, so need a heavier compound polish to try i think.... Hopefully early next year, as soon as there is some nice dry weekends i will get on it and do the whole car... when i think how nice it looks now, i think its gonna look amazing when the swirls are gone too!! Great pics tho, you real

laugh off the trip... lol -
their point is that if you hit a person in the road at 30 they have an 80% chance of living, if you hit them nearer to 40 they have an 80% chance of dying... we've all seen the adverts.... so what they mean is that if the guy wasnt speeding the person might have lived.... so it was the more than likely the speed that killed them. Anyway james, most of us speed, and in the 7 years of driving every day, i also speed and also have never had a single crash, but a 30 has many valid reasons for being so... so thats the one to take notice of... the rest i judge to where the road is and whats along it

thats just one simple example of how speed can kill though... there are a lot of other ways too... and the fact is there is a time and place for having a play... in my eyes a 30mph limit is there for a reason... and even if someone did step into the road, the point is at 30 they would live, at 39 they prob wouldnt. i dont think drivers get enough harsh treatment when it comes to killing people on the roads. I know of a lad that got a year and a half in prison for killing 3 friends in a car and a mother and her two kids in an oncoming car cuz he overtook on a blind bend.... tell me thats fair?

Mine has been used as my daily in the year i have owned it and i prob do 200 in fuel a month, but its not that that bothers me, its having to drive it in the rain and cold when really i want him tucked up in a garage for winter.... maybe its an idea to get a cheap 300 run about for your daily commute... if you do less miles in the vr you can go on classic car policy with some insurers and get it well cheap so makes having another car not too expensive. i know if i had a spare few hundred thats what i would do! lol
-
i got mine from gsf too... think it was a 5 year one for about 5 odd quid! halfords told me 90 quid too.... so you can guess what i told them!! lol

i take it you have a friendly MOT tester yeah? cuz it wont go through without abs...

just caught up with this.... i like the first design but think it would be better with just 2010 as the date and not the rest (just my 10p worth) I will ask the guys i know to get you a price, but i think i will be pulling out of this trip myself now im afraid... im moving out, so trying to spare 500 is gonna be more than impossible. maybe 2011?? lol. -

Yeah i agree... i had my screen replaced in essex and the guy was really good to me (as you all know how panicy i get when someone touches my car) he let me come out and touch up some rust spots with some krust while the screen was out and was very efficient. Thumbs up for auto glass!

my door pin rattles when i get to over 80, pain in the arse, i keep meaning to get round to putting something round it i just never do... I have seen people put sound proofing stuff inside the doors before so it is possible... you can use something like this.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/car-acoustics-soundproofing-2mt_W0QQitemZ160377871160QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2557441b38#ht_1861wt_907 comes in all different sizes.

think you've got most of the ideas.. i would say it would more than likely be plugs, leads or your ISV (idle stabilisation valve). If you check all those i would imagine one of them will sort it... if not let us know! -
Here's a guide on how to replace it, but shows you where it is located... http://www.gti-vr6.net/library/engine/repl_VR6_therm_housing.html
