I use syntha silver 10w40 oil from Vw Ngk spark plugs. Wouldn't use anything else personally.

Thing is the VR will never gain much more power unless you go FI and spend a lot of money, there are no quick fixes to give it a boost... getting an induction kit, exhaust, cams, chip etc will only ever give you 20BHP max really and you will spend a lot to even get that!! Best bet is to keep it as is and wait til you have the proper funds to go FI.

Yeah you cant miss it, the abs pump and ecu are next to the expansion tank, big black plug.

I wouldnt if i was you. They arent worth any money anymore due to them goin under. Plus the parts are getting hard to get hold of now. My dad has the V8 MG ZT and he's already run into troubles... Id keep the vr or get a better car than that mate... a step down like that is a BIG step down...

not if you fit a non ABS dash blank from a different car ;) True but if they know VRs they will know it should come with ABS and know there isnt a light, but worth a shot as most places wouldnt know.

It depends on who does your MOTs cuz you do need it for that. Cant send it by email cuz its over 500 PDF pages, aint gonna happen im afraid.. sorry. :S

No worries, ive got the manual as a PDF on my work comp, very handy!! lol Ive not had any issue at all, the ABS is completely independant from the standard brakes so doesnt affect how they work, ive been 2 years without it and have never had a moment where ive thought i could have needed it.

best bet is to pm tony cuz he's event organiser and is down as going... he might be able to shed some light.

my ABS hasnt been working since i bought the car, lol. Ive never had a car with ABS so dont rely on it... its just getting it through MOT is a bit of a mission if they're a picky garage.

oh and then your best bet is get it straight to someone with VAG COM who can give you a reading and tell you what the fault is...
