    Swapping the power steering pump is pretty straightforward, since it is relatively easy to get to from underneath. Things to remember are: 1. You will need a new drivebelt once you have removed the old one. 2. The Pump's Pulley is more easily removed/refitted with the pump still bolted to the engine. 3. You will need to drain & refill the systm to do this job. When refilling, you must use special VW Power steering fluid (green) which is available from main dealers, GSF & ECP, but not from many other places. Don't use the "generic" yellow/clear stuff. 4. You must never let a power steer

    They can fit, but they dont look right imo and they will affect the speed and handling unfortunately. The ideal wheel size for a mk3 is 16s, 17s are ok, i run them in summer, and 15s in winter, you can tell the difference between the 2 but it is ok. Personally id steer clear of 18s and be on the hunt for some 16s.

    Yeah. Temp sensor is next on the list. But get it vag commed to save chasing the fault.

    Is it obd 1? If so clean the isv. If not check the usual coil pack, plugs, leads, maf etc and see if that sorts it.
