  3. Best way mate 12 years ago before I started my business and had these places, I never held a spanner in my life. I bought my first VR it had 250K Miles on the clock. The head gasket went.... Phoned VW specialist and they quoted £800 to do the job parts and materials to do it! I paid £400 for the car hahaha. Mrs was not impressed and at the time we couldn't afford that kind of expense. So I turned to this forum as a paid member and downloaded the PDF workshop manual for the engine. Studied it and guides of people doing chains on here. Popped the car in the garage and attempted that shit
  4. As back in the thread I did the wedding thing a few years back hahaha! Expensive hobby that my next one will certainly be cheaper!!! I ave a registered scrap yard in my back garden, another in Wales and a garage in Wales my tools are pretty much covered. I have started turbo builds before and proved I can't be without the car. This way I can get a bit extra poke and get my car back quick. Then I can build a monster in my own time when finances allow. Wife and 3 daughters are with out a doubt my most expensive items . The only downside is I will have to buy all the ARP bolts twice. Howe
  5. Don't get me wrong this one has cost me a few quid so far especially for the donor car at £1150 delivered. But I have made about £600 back on other bits. I don't like being without the car in summer so hopefully this engine will go in through winter and last until the next one is built. [emoji3][emoji3]. That will be a forged bottoms end.
  6. I am running standard rods and Pistons. Building for 350-400 this time. When my engine that's in the car is out I will start another build but that will be a long winded expensive number hahaha
  7. Yes that's what I mean although what engine was in the e30? My mate had that turbo bolted to his 1.6 civic fuck sake [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  8. £3-400 mate. But the new turbo I was gonna buy packs a different punch to this monster. Will ship this off to re conditioners tomorrow and wait for his verdict. Then make my decision.
  9. Well nothing much to report really still waiting on bits from the powder coaters... Got the oil feed adapter fitted which was an eBay special about £11 seems a solid thing Was also given for FREE a Holset HX35 Cummins Turbo. I know a lot of people are running these and posting some great figures! I test fitted it to the engine and it sits a whopping 13" from the head on the manifold. I have a funny feeling this thing is going to be to big???? I am trying to see if I am better just buying a new turbo or save myself a few hundred notes and have this one rebuilt!!!! Not sure!!!
  10. Pull your finger out man Hahaha! I will be taking mine off the road after the show in Leeds on 18th. Then that will be it until summer! Hopefully finish all that I want to do over winter!

  17. Just like me! When I weld I end up plasma cutting hahaha
  18. Thats the reason I opted for the siemens ones as the greens are getting dated now. Here is a link dude, I also went for my fuel pump from these guys to £80 and lifetime warranty boasting better figures that the Walbro. Benny is running a charger with that pump not sure on his injectors though. Pretty awesome build thread of his worth a read. It may be in there. 19. Just bought some siemans 630CC injectors to run on my turbo conversion. A big choice is the Bosch 440 Big Greens tried and tested for years! Got my 630s for £240 delivered from a UK company...
