  1. Straight forward 1hr job groveling under the front end of the car undoing bolts which hold starter to bell housing. Much easier than on 4cyl 8V where starter mount includes front engine mount. Just make sure that phosphor bronze pinion bush stays in housing or if it comes out you replace it. Good luck
  2. Thanks - GSF man took a lot of time checking we had the right one from engine number as car is near change point. Will compare carefully but what is the difference between the two? Cheers
  3. Thanks - all is clear now! Just need a 36mm socket Cheers
  4. Thanks Bungy - like your boobs! Understand 36mm socket but whats this about draining oil from allen bolt? Cheers
  5. Had my VR6 for a year + so oil and filter change is overdue. Its a 1995 N reg Mk3 OBD2. Seen posts on filter and seems oil has to be drained from an allen screw and then remove cannister with 36mm socket to put new cartridge in. Has anybody got more details for doing this job as a first timer only used to disposable metal cartridges on 16v Mk2! Cheers
  6. clamps shouldnt make a difference, as long as they are the correct size and in alright condition and tight enough - good gungum will do it
  7. haha, funnily enough the washing machine is up for sale, been sat there for ages!
  8. yeah pain in the arse to clean em, the VR seems to shed off far too much brake dust too.
  9. got MIlltek on mine and never sounded tinny, even when i had to swap it over from my old Gti to the VR, perfect first time fired up. i agree with the monk, may need sealing properly, you can do it yourself no problem
  10. what condition the wheels and tyres in?? may be interested in sniping them offf.
  11. seems easier and cheaper to buy a 100k model that has been looked after/had the required work done and then pay way less for it. madness paying 8k for a corrado, love the car, but get a used VR golf/rado for 1K spend 7k making it mint, now that is gonna be nicer than just having 33k on the colck. haha. now why doesnt my bank have £7k in it for me to sort mine out!!
  12. only a football player would buy a Merc hey!!! impressive finish, treated \aluminium polished up mega! Ferrari/Lambo/BMW any day over that thing though
  13. may check out Hlafords on the way home then, cant cost much can they?
  14. i took my rear wiper off over the weelend and need a grommet to finish it off properly (just got some gaffa tape at the moment) any ideas where i would get this from?
  15. what a steal, done well there, luckily my mate runs a wheel refurbing company so mine were done on the super cheap, bet the kid that sold them was well gutted, considering that the standard wheels can sell for more than that!
  16. how much you pay for them if you dont mind me asking?
  17. spoonman2, shat myself then, thought someone had stolen my car! good choice in colour of car and wheels. where you get the wheels done, look a very similar finish to mine, had mine done in smoked chrome, awesome effect in the right light!
  18. i wouldnt mind coming this time round, was planning to go this summer, but funds are too low with another holiday taking priority. any convoys going past/from Birmingham?
