Abs Pump Fitting Guide

there is a guide somewhere, cant remember if on here on another forum, will try and dig it out -
think you can see the part numbers with it on the car, might need to do some trickery camera shots though to see them. will need coding for it to work. if interested let me know the part numbers and i can see if i have the same
-
let me know the relevant part numbers and i can see if mine will work for you. not just a case of getting one from another OBD1 as there are several with different part numbers on and they need to match,

yes and yes, good tv coming back at last! just need a new series of Fast 'n Loud and we're sorted.
-
did you buy the correct lamba sensor? i know when i was looking for a new one they were a couple of not so obvious choices. it ran fine on mine - i have it for sale now if you want?
-
alot of roads are cambered to allow for water to flow off the road to the drains. might not be the cause but could be making it feel worse than it is
-
arches look like they are photoshopped, blurry and different shade of grey/black to the other plastics, looks especially suspicious on the rear

not massive but big enough to work with a roller in it, it would actually make things a bit easier too.

ABS Removal questions
Timah89 replied to cornishvr6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
i am cuirrently doing this on mine. you will need a brake bias valve too as the current one is done via the ABS unit. Also it will fail the MOT, anything like that which is factory fitted must remain on the car unless the car can be proven for use as a track car or rally car. we all have friends who can help with MOT's though -
thats the kind of thing i am after. just really unsure about weight limits on them. i dont mind doing full engine out job as want to do alot of work on that too and tidy all the bay out. I want to pretty much make the car 100% mint again. alot of damage underneath and something like thye chassis roller would make life so easy
-
Looking to get a Chassis Roller as hopefully doing a full overhaul on the VR over the next year. where can i get one form and how much should i need to spend? are there any good 2nd sites that will have them?

HotGolf from ClubGTI builds them for about 500' date=' I've just had stealth to do mine, but i supplied both gearboxes, new bearings, seals and ARP diff bolts.... I know know that I have a really strong gearbox, however like any second hand box, you just dont know the condition of it swings and roundabouts... not sure what the gear ratio's are like for the V5's though, but i highly recommend the 3.68 modification in a VR box... [/quote'] i think n£500 would be out of my league right now, but that does sound very interesting.
-
if the box is already out though to change the final drive would it not be easier to just chuck in the V5 box (may be a more expensive route though). loads of people seem to rave about the difference it makes. i'm also slightly worried that my current box is on the way out (may just be poor linkage though)
-
looking to make a few changes over the next few months as the Golf is now SORN. read up alot on the V5 gearbox change, what are the benefits and negatives of this and also is it really as straight forward a swap as i have read. which is the gearbox code to go for too and do any of them come with the correct flanges needed?
-
just a random example, for £2,500 you can get this from this forum - http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?481860 makes a highline with 120k on the clock for £1700 look very expensive. full turbo car for an extra £800, bang on!
-
seen a few on Gumtree for cheaper, suppose it all comes down to mileage and condition and also mods. You have to pay what you believe is right for that particular car i guess
-
haha, yeah it is abit isnt it. if we were talking MK3 though it would always be a 6. tougher call though with new cars. mind you i'm going for a 730D next so what do i know lol
-
i test drove a mk5 GTi and mk5 R32 back to back and even then i prefferred the Gti, just felt way better to drive. love the 6 engine in the Golfs but sometimes (more recent times) Gti just feels better
-
seems like a few cheap options out there then. think i'll best get hunting around the scrap yards then!
-
yes but alot of the BMW ones are on eBay for anything upto £50 where as those kits in america are roughly about £50 for the whole lot new. was just a thought really. is it a bigger thing in America?? i'm quite happy to get the job lot from a breakers yard BMW and put it in
-
why dont the UK seem to sell thses anywhere, American sites have loads (amazon, eBay etc.) all at good prices. does anywhere in the UK sell them - http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Gasket-6279-Mounted-Installation/dp/B00068OQ9W/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1344276228&sr=1-4
