Vr6 Climatronic Help - VW Dealers ppl
manzi replied to g60bron's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
my climatronic always switches on with random settings when i turn the ignition. it has once gone funny, displaying alot of crap but soon sorted itself out when it loaded properly after giving it some time. unsure about the switching off part but as for the rest, random settings on ignition and it crashing once in a while, is normal to my vento. -
looks pretty ace. i think you should develop it into a full round body tat. :-p

ANyone know how to stop the voltage to the low beam with i switch the side lights on?
-
thank you very much! do you know which direction to turn to adjust down? its a little fiddly on a vento so i'm hopin i could sort this in one go rather than messing it up. cheers :$

i bought a universal h4 set. simply replace it and only requires a small hole on the back of the head lamp cover.

For some reason my vento has everything but a head light adjuster. anyone got any ideas how to do a manual adjustment? bcoz i've just recently fitted HID kit and needs to be a wee bit lower, just a little on the bright side. (h)

this is what my HID's look like. i only have one problem tho, the side lights on my vento seem to power the main beams on low voltage, does anyone know which wire to cut to stop the voltage to the main beams? at the moment, having the side lights on makes the main beams strobe like police blues coz of the low voltage. burns at 8000k and not 7500k as mentioned earlier. this doesn't work on my alarm. just doesn't do anything other than disarm the alarm.

think you maybe able to find them on ebay. only thing is that whether they are quality ones or not. been told when i purchased my set that there are some that are manufactured poorly. the risk is that they will heat up too much and melt the bulb holder and then cause the headlight plastics to melt. my sets saxo irix, been told they're made in korea and are quality.

just come back from holiday in malaysia and the rear wheels have stopped rubbing. it must be a thing with adjustable dampers, requiring a certain amount of time to regain its quality. -
i've recently bought a set from my holiday. Although i think they are illegal on the headlights we have but gunna give it ago. don't think MOT guys will pass it tho so theres gunna be alot of faffin about. mine burns at 7500k. will post pics when fitted.

i think it has something to do with Jap cars becoming more popular. Its a trend but theres nothin more cool than a VR.

nah, its got adjustable dampers. i bought it like that. i was thinking of putting a smaller profile tire on it just to give the tires that angle. at mo i'm thinking of gettin some 7.5 borbet A's coz at mo i can't put anythin in the boot and no rear passengers. -
i didn't think it looked right. there seem to be a lot of stress on one part of that component.

i checked out the arches just this morn and found i was correct, i didn't have a clue what i was lookin at. this is what the arches look like from the under side. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j273/manzi_2006/Image037.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j273/manzi_2006/Image036.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j273/manzi_2006/Image035.jpg i wasn't sure but in the first image, does that show that the arches have been cut before new ones were added? this is where the wear is happening on the tyre. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j273/manzi_2006/Image038.jpg http://i82.phot -

take a look at this guys and gurls. was just faffin about and this is what it look like when i have rear passengers in my vento. images from 2mp phone. Drivers Side. Passengers Side. Praise the lowered or what ey! My bro also discovered that the arches maybe the problem. looking through various mags, he found that most golfs n ventos with wide wheels have cut back arches. unsure if you guys know about this? on some there is a 10 -20 mm flat edge after the curved part of the arches, others end at the point the curve stops. so i'm thinking that the way whoever did these arches have done -
how the hell do i put those clips back on? i don't have to right tool i guess and i don't know what tool to use. tried using pliers but didn't wanna risk snapping the crank case breather.

to say i bought the car like this with these modifications, i have to agree about the rims. i'm luvin em. i think i have fk gas adjustable shockers coz the mechanic said they were adjustable and are at the highest setting at mo. can you just buy the rear set of coilovers or adjustable rear shocks? i thought they always come in sets of 4. i gotta admit that it does sound pretty nasty, like the rear end was just towed along the floor. -

Ohh mannn! that means more money! :-p the image shows that its been lowered 40mm on fk suspension kit, it catching every bump i hit on the road. i've got a set of eibachs from when my bro had a golf mk3 gti 8v, they did a lowering of 30mm. the effect was the same....money down the drain!! are there any standard length but stiffer springs? or is it gunna have to be the worse scenario where i have to get rid of the rims? :-( -

does it not scrape when you have rear passengers in?
