  1. good point there fellla ...... Thanks
  2. Persoanlly I would choose a 8v as a daily, but if you are getting it cheap then it might be ok?
  3. Lets find out, I put up a poll in the dub chat section as I am convinced they are not! Maybe white or red, not mulberry.
  4. Guy's and Girls, Just wanna see which is the most common colour (Factory standard). Also the so called rare colours within the forum, please vote honestly as this would point out that Mulberry's are not rare lol! Obviously this little poll is within the confinement of our forum but I was rather curious to find out Thanks PS: If you have resprayed your vr with a custom paint code then just vote for the colour it was previously! I think I have covered all the factory colours but if you know of anymore then let me know and thanks for your input
  5. Just made a post about my old and vr and then remembered this.Thought I should share. The guy who bought it off me was from South London,n not sure if he was a member on here but I know he is a meember on Ed38 as he posted these gruesome pics up there. he had it resprayed and so on but then had a crash...... When I had it..... After he resprayed it.... And then.... Thankfully he escaped without any injuries and he did say it was not his fault.
  6. This sounds like the dodgy 2p maplin resistor type thingy? There was a dude on ebay that sold power chips for the ecu, I did fit one to my old obd1 and it was not really worth the hassle, barely nooticed any difference.
  7. I agree, judging from your other two you obviously don't need the extra cash so I say keep it as a track/weekend burn out
  8. I have never been in one and don't know anyone who has one, do you think it is better than the mk1?
  9. Hey Paul, Welcome, there is quite a few members North of the river , including me. Have a look in the meets ection, MJVR6 hosts quite a few meets in the area however I think the main one is on a weekday All the best.
  10. It is obvious that the poll is apealing to hard heads...... how can a Saab nail the classic mk1 gti...... the original and best!
  11. They are not the fastest 0-60 but it is more about torque, however I must admit that an exhaust makes a significant difference, my previous vr was an OBD1 with 101K and was chiped (ebay job), it had a k&n cone with a miltek exhaust and that was alot quicker than my highline whcih is standard. Best place for cold air feed is to remove the carbon canister and run a pipe through there.
  12. Looooooking good (h) , just one question, how did you manage to fit 8,5's at the back without any arch work??? Or did you have the arches done when you resprayed the car *-) or was it the magic custom made adaptors? Thanks
  13. It looks very straight and neat, but like the others mentioned it is quite dificult to price them nowadays, I would guess betwen £1500-£1800?
  14. Looks good, 40mm is great for daily use. You can also smoke the original fogs and indicators but I must admit they don't look as good as the aftermarket clear smoked units.
  15. Another Vr Lover, welcome to living large (with petrol I mean lol). The car looks very neat, best colour as well! I agree with you, don't stick an open cone in, rather a flat panel filter and swiss cheese the airbox on the intake side, that's what i did to mine and the roar is still there :-)
  16. Thanks for the invite! Is is because mine is black??? lol
  17. Purple/Lilac is a girls colour lol, for the men LC9Z !!! Nice example there dude!
  18. Thanks ip, vey helpfull, will give it a go this weekend. Already bought new top mounts and I can see your point about how the nut holds the top mount into place, finger crossed this solves my woes!
