Thanks for getting back to me, well what happens is when the car is on, cannot select gear to go into 1st at all...Reverse is ok. Checked the linkage too, seems a bit of play. The car has to be driven in 2nd to take off...2nd gear sumtimes gets a little stiff.....Guess he's gonna have to wait and see what his mechanic says.

Hey Peeps, can any body help??? My mate just bought an R reg VR6. He's had it just over a month, but in the last 2 weeks he has been having problem's Gear selecting into 1st and 2nd! To be honest i'm sure he's been ripping the car after being a BM'guy for so long...Could it be the selector or the gearbox need pulling out????? Appreciate the help peeps. Thanx

BigBob, I did put a thread out on this subject quite a while back. You do need the cat for the Mot, UNLESS you know the tester very well...Apparently, if u copper grease it nice enuff, u can take the cat off and on easily at the Mot time...Not sure if thats correct in regards to the Copper grease..I am thinkin of taking my Cat off and upgrading the manifold.. My mate has done it, u can notice the difference..

Dude, i had the same problem, It may start cuttin out soon, changed my Air flow meter, problem gone!!! Then after a couple of months, coilpack decided to pack inn too...So changed both....

Yo Peeps, What probs would i have to put up with if i De-Cat my VR6? Would i have to stick it on the VAG comp to reset anything..etc? And, which 6Branch manifold do you guys recommend? My VR at the moment has a standard exhaust system apart from the backbox which is aPowerflo, + an induction kit on it.. The exhaust is well quiet, all you hear is the Induction KiT!!!-MJ :-p
