  1. Got any pics of it fitted mate? worth having a look at for clearance issues..
  2. hmmm tough one, mk1,mk2, 205..... The mk2 got it - but i am biased!! (even though the half of my car is a mk3 vr!)
  3. tried the temp sender and associated connections? I had a simalar problem once, changed stat, temp senders etc, even though the car ran fine with no excessive pressurisation of the hoses. Started to run out of ideas then shortly afterwards the fuel guage started playing up, came to the conclusion that the car was fine and tried a different set of clocks. Turns out it was the guages in the clocks were knackered.
  4. throttle body clean, and opening and closing to its fully extents?
  5. A few places to check that i have had leaks from in the past: Thermostat housing seal where it meets the head - if the engines hot it will dry pretty quickly so you wont have a puddle. Thermostat housing seal - these leak, worth putting a new housing on as they always seem to warp and just replacing the seal usually only a tempory fix. temp senders, check seals here. Check rad and hoses for leaks around temp sender, top hose union. the two ally tubes that the pipse go which stick up off the oil cooler, they go porous where they meet the body of the housing. hope this helps!!
  6. Nope, always careful about that, she's down the weekend so i'll go over all the connectors and earths. need to get to the bottom of this as it blows both at the same time, not cheap!
  7. Did this cure it mate? had a phone call from the GF today, her headlight bulbs have blown again, (mk3 1.4 P reg) thats 2 sets in a month. someone at her work has put a direct 12v feed to get her home. reckons its the switch...?
  8. Are the white wires there just to heat the lambda?

    turbo kit

i'd be cautious of a tuners that sell those 'turbo-zet' type, ahem, "superchargers"....
  10. they are on ebay as well...
  11. i have a solid mount on front of my mk2 vr. its a stripped out car anyway so noise didnt really worry me when i ordered it. now its on i cant really notice anymore noice or vibration. im still running the standard rear and gearbox mount, plus there are the 4 rubbers on the cross member against the chassis leg to remove some of the vibration. A friend of mine who had a mk1 jetta vr6 bolted the front mount straight to the front crossmember and it was fine. theres a guy on the mk2 vr forum who makes solid mounts for variuos different setups, think mine was 40 quid.
  12. Could it be there was a faulty batch made? theres not exactly 1000's of VRTs about so it would take a while for the suspect ones to surface?
  13. Your probaly right dude, That way it be under more pressure i think, as it would have to get forsed out the top?, In that link sharky posted it shows you how you can rotate the oil feeds and inlet so it would be pukkas from that respect Sorry, typed that wrong, I meant that i'm sure i read that the return should exit at the bottom of the turbo. (thats what you get when you try and grab a sneaky peak on tinternet at work!)
  14. I reckon i might give this a bash too, i shall post pics up when its done. Dont hold your breath though as it wont be for a while yet!!
  15. i got my 3" weld on v band flanges from Himni racing if thats any help
  16. Well i got home last night and there was a large box of turbo parts from america waiting for me, i was like a 6 year old at christmas!
  17. i have heard of a few uk companies with kits in development, i reckon in 12 months there will be a few about. Just take a while to provide a reliable piece of kit, with all the niggles ironed out. Bet they wont be as cheap as the yank kits though!
