  1. you can just hear the aux water pump with the ignition on (not engine running) try opening the bonnet and clicking in the key, then put your hand on the aux pump
  2. Hey when would you say an oil cooler is needed ? what is a good / average running temp ? i often run around 100 degrees, is this ok ? is an oil cooler a worthwhile investment if looking to supercharge / turbo !? cheers
  3. she is a 93/94 with 110k on the clock But she started out life as a GTI 8v - and has had a full transplant at adrenaline motor sport. cheers
  4. looking at the superchargr / turbo route probably at some point - hungry for power, and used to drive a tubby - miss the boost ! dont wanna do to much externally, as i like the way she looks, maybe drop her a bit more, and was thinking about getting some 16x9 borbet type A's on. she is an ex-show car, so ive polished up all the engine as best i can, and the body has been de-seamed and fully re-painted. Since ive owned her, ive just got the rims on, done the timing chains and heater matrix - 2 big jobs - full engine and dash out ! but worth it to keep her mint !
  5. yeap, 18" with polished rims (when they aint covered in snow) look sweet. Not sure if they the GTI rims? - they are BBS? no rubbin, but as you can see from the top pics, the arches are rolled big time, and she is sitting on coilies !

  8. just made it to work ! was best fun on way to work ever !
  9. best way to check for a spark, is to remove each lead from each plug in turn. undo the spark plug, and then plug the spark plug back into the lead (out of the engine) Get someone to crank the engine while you hold the plug tip against the engine, (use pliars-dont hold it) you shoudl see a spark this is a pretty basic methos, but it works. do this for each spark plug to teat if they are ok, and your looking at chains, then check the top tensioner as a guide to how bad they are. But at that sort of millage it might be owth doing the chains as a fail safe anyways (i have dont mine, and made no e
  10. could be CV joints on the way out ?! or poss wheel bearings also
  11. Im running 18" now, but aint got pic at the moment - will have to get some up. what does "takes the pi55" mean - are they going to be a nightmare. here are a couple of pics from the previouse owner (with differnt wheels - cant decide if they are 9" all round or not ?)
  12. Hi I run 18" BBS rims and they dont rub atall, however, i have coil-overs AND rolled arches, so cant really advise on stock body. Ill try and get some pics up
  13. Ok, i am currently running 18†BBS rims on my mk3 and i wanna change these for the euro look Borbet A’s. Now Ive looked at loads of threads about these wheels but just cant decide on 9†all round, or 9†on back and 7†on front My arch’s have been rolled and i have loads of room on current wheels and am running coil overs, so can change hight. Now i have the OBD1 engine, so i guess the smaller brakes ? – but will 9†go ??? Any one with pics of 9†all round ? I dont wanna get the 7" and they look too small ! also, anyone know what offsets ill need for 9" all round if i go 4 it ? che
