Alrite guys, I am a relatively new person here after being swayed towards the "dark side" by VR6pete, so do forgive me for jumping straight in with the questions! ive had a flick through the results after a search, but not really found answers to questions. To start off, iam hopefully going to be building a VRT lump from the ground up for my mk2, but need to answer a few questions before i start looking into it any further and possibly wasting money on stuff i dont need to buy? First one, Bores - Ive read that the blocks can be taken as far as 3.1? Would this benefit a turbo setup at all? At
  2. how do the VR's handle on comparison to the 1.8's? anyone had the pleasure of driving both? i am asuming the VR is a much heavier unit?
  3. alrite folks, newbie here. i am a mate of vr6pete's so naturally he told me to sign up here:P i am now at the point with my mk2 project where i am ready to start putting engine in.. but iam having 2nd thoughts about wether i want the VR or 1.8t. iam trying to gauge how difficult the VR swap is on comparison to the 1.8t?.. all reading i have done has been on the 1.8t side of things so i dont really know how people go about approaching the VR conversions. do the VRs sit on the existing mk2 subframes but just use different mounts?.. also what about loom/management? is the full VR loom/ecu used
