  1. yeah I think so, I bet she's flithy!!
  2. I broke one two years ago and ended up selling most of the bits to people in america. I made more by cutting it up than I would have done selling it whole - As PHM said it can be worth more this way. Broke my heart having to destroy it. as you can see I really did cut it up
  3. I think it works as this, VR6 DOHC on the earlier cars and VR6 2.8 on the later ones? mines a oct '97 so must be one of the last 1000 or so made and has VR6 2.8 can't see why it wouldn't be the original one. That one in the picture deffo looks like a metal version though
  4. Nice one, hope you got what you wanted, BTW what you getting next?
  5. I had one for a company car a few years ago. It was nearly new and not a week went by with out a bit of trim falling off or some sort of failure/breakage. Luckly the job was only a short term contract so only had it for 2 months. My advice would be (other than sell it asap) is to get a new part as they hardly work when 100% let alone if you've bodged it together. buy her a polo or lupo if you want a small car
  6. unluckly there mate, well it dosen't seem too bad, hopefully all will be ok when you start taking the bent bits off. Thankfully VW use mainly bolt on parts for the front end. I seen a lot worse off cars that have hit deers head on!!
  7. you can adjust it on the ball joints - only very small amounts but as long as its in tollerance then its fine. My mk1 has better castor adjustment because you can move the top of the struts as well as the ball joint allowing enough movement to make a difference. The design of the top mounts on the mk3 make the movement of castor negligible
  8. I paid £37 for a full 4 wheel alingment, this was full camber castor and toe set up. The company I use has one of the only 3d computer alingment kits in the county. you get a before and after print out too. Very clever how it work - after they put the equipment on the wheels the computer watches the car when it is raised so knows hows much to move it by when the suspension has no load, enabling the mechanic to work on it in the air (easier) a final check is done on the ground when all adjusted. He'll even do different set ups for normal, fast road or race and offers corner weighting for coil

I could have thought of a lot more one word titles that would have gone better.

LOL @ PHM! I see they let you stay in the building then? I didn't see the news - so did they have to blow up anything??
  11. I remember them, also the mk3 had another add when the woman drives off with 'just divorced' written on the window and baked bean tins strung to the back. The bluebells did the soundtrack - I even bought the promotional CD with the MK3 on the front( **goes and hides**) LOL
  12. yep glow plug light. The newer they are the quicker they warm. The light should go out before you should start the engine (ideally)
  13. spring, metal cap, bearing, rubber mount, nut. Then on the car the top mount thing and another nut
  14. santa pod has its own weather pattern anyway!! its nearly always raining or freezing cold reguardless to every where else
  15. MMMmmmm yep, well I damaged a 360 challenge car last year, it had one of those flappy paddle 'box things, I stacked the spare set of wheels and tyres behind it and went to put it in the warehouse, well tried to - got reverse instead of 1st and cracked the rear bumper, because its all one piece with a venturi section underneath it, it was £3500 for a new one plus paint, plus fitting. I was not popular that week. bloody italian cars
  16. I don't think thats a flammer kit, I had to deliver a countach from suffolk to redhill year before last. Only trouble was it was raining most of the way there. Felt like anything over 80 and the car would have turned it self round on the spot. I can certainly say the one I had popped and banged on the over run and it was a geniune lp400
  17. looks really good m8, I too have just bought some meguiars clay bar and spray. Haven't had the chance to use it yet though.
  18. yeah but you can't account for taste!
  19. Quite a long story but to cut it short' date=' He got the loan for a car in cash and left it at home in a TESCO BAG!! (FOOL) and went out, When he came back his mum had put it in the bin (thinking it was rubbish) and the binmen had already been and gone! totally gutted!! reminds me of another story which made the news last year. A motorcyclist lost nearly 10 grand which was in his bag whilst travelling down the M4, the bag it was in opened and most of it flutted its way down the motorway [/quote']
  20. LOL I hope that was based on a true story, Imagine the how **** the husband gonna be !!
  21. it sounds as if it needs at least 500 quid spending on it asap, so if you've got 2k to spend then you could do better. I would for-go the leather for a better car, leather often comes up on ebay for any thing from 200-600 so if you buy a decent car it can be worth the extra later on? Also I can't see them khans adding any value IMO wheels are such a personal thing, not every body likes my wheels but at least I have the standard BBSs to put back on if I want. does it come with the originals??
