  1. looks great, I love the TTcomps and the D90s, There is a lot of cool wheels for a mk3
  2. so whats all that stuff on the side of my throttle body then, I thought that is was that which would hold the throttle in postion as it looks like some kinda of motor? well VAG has cocked up an not ordered the loom so I have only managed to fit the stalk.
  3. GSF are doing the crystal ones cheep at the moment, I was thinking about a set for mine
  4. well i've ordered all the stuff from VAG, you need the stalk and an additional piece of loom to plug into the fuse box. Only trouble is now another guy I've spoken to said you cant fit it to a vr because of the throttle body? Well I can't return the parts as they were all special order electrical items so I'll have to make it work some how!!
  5. Just want to know if this was ever fitted to any mk3 Golf VR6s either obd1 or 2 engined cars I'm sure I saw an advert for a vr with CC but can't remember now?
  6. Yeah would be good, let me know if you want to meet up some where around norwich.
  7. also going by the same data if a VR weighs 1155 as suggested in another thread then I make the VR just over 150 bhp per 1000kg and a mk2 16v 137bhp per 1000kg So the VR is still better
  8. well that makes it about 112 bhp per 1000kg then?
  9. the audi is more subtle and the r32 is more agressive looking, its your choice but I think i'd pick the r32 as the audi is a bit too grown up looking. The only audis I really like have boots such as a nice RS4 or why not a W12!! ummmmm W12
  10. how does it know when you get to 60. I had a turbo timmer in my scoob (HKS one) it had all sorts of timming setting for recording 0-100 kph, 0- 150 kph,and distance 100m,200m etc etc, this was hard wired to my ecu which had a speed and rev pick up so it knew how fast you where going and would auto trigger the timmer once the wheels had started moving. Also if you reset the device you could see how fast the car had gone and the maxium revs etc so if your missus borrowed it you could keep an eye on her. I surprised my missus after she'd borrwed it one day by asking her how it handled at a ***mph
  11. no the VR beat the 16v! also shows how poor the mk4 so called GTI (8v) is
  12. still waiting for my registration email mate!
  13. Should of had that off me as well then?? Its all gone now mind you, most of it ended up in america
  14. umm tempted myself it looks as it could be quite good

    VR6 quick?

When I had my impreza I had to hire a van to move some furniture about, it was a renualt tdi something, honestly when I got back in my impreza later that day I wonder why it was so slow?? the van had so much grunt but no speed, this may be how you're feeling, your TDI may have felt quicker off the mark but I bet if you sat your old car up against your VR you'd watch your VR dispear into the distance, tdis are very deseptive in how they deliver power and most of the time feel quicker than what they really are.
  16. love the car mate, do you put the mirrors on for normal driving then put the blanks on for shows?? My old series 1 GTI only had a drivers mirror, I found I missed the passenger one quite a bit when I used the car.
  17. Love the wheels, not so sure on the white with silver though? but hey its your car!! Are you not worried about pushing it hard round a corner and the tyre popping off the rim? I know I would be

    goodwood

I went with Porsche last year, was a really good weekend (stayed all three days!) Had dinner in the House on sunday, hopfully will get invited this year as well
  19. Brochure says its up to 25 mph, its only any real benefit when pulling away gently on slipy surfaces, does it not use the abs as well to slow the wheel thats spinning fastest? As soon as you out of 1st your on your own! I have noticed mine spins both front wheels on a muddy track near were I work.

    new leather

You're so lucky, I was watching them and was willing to bid 350 but my sniper program failed to log in,as I was at work I couldn't bid. so yes I think you got a bargin.
  21. My mate has a g40 in his mk1, currently making just over 150bhp, dont forget that a g40 engine should bolt straight in as it uses the same small block mounts as your engine, a g60 or KR, 1.8t etc would all need the drivers side engine mount cutting off, turning upside down moving and welding back on. Considering the weight of the car 150bhp does the job!
  22. Our house is sided by two fields, we have quite a comprehensive list of small to medium sized animals which have been brought through the cat flap, mainly dead but we did have a rabbit brought in which was completely unmarked - it was delivered one evening into the living room whilst me and the wife were watching TV!! I dismissed it to start with as out of the corner of my eye it looked like one of the cats - until it hopped in front of me LOL
  23. Cheers Pete, He's high maintence though! needs constant brushing as we let outside. He really has got massive paws! Sorry to take this off topic
