  1. 1.8 20v motor is a pretty boring engine TBH (sounds like a hair dryer) wont get the same driving enjoyment as the corrado. TT is a pretty dull / numb driving experience.
  2. Got a spare 2.9 Corrado manifold if anyones interested?
  3. Yeah knock sensor if nackered will surely retard the ignition? did it come up with cam pos sensor as well?
  4. Rich are you using the same place?
  5. Yeah be interested to know what the labour cost was. I ve got all the chain's & clutch etc just need somewhere to fit it all. Readings not far either!
  6. People are running 280-300bhp on standard clutches so you'll be fine.
  7. Above the Coil pack /dizzy. Towards the back of the head. One 6mm allen from mem, easy as pie.
  8. Mytyres are fine, also try camskill. They dont have as wide a sellection but they tend to be cheaper.
  9. Also once the manifold has been wrapped. Its best to spray the wrap. This stop's it socking any oil up which would become a major fire hazard!
  10. Redline and Silkolene are both good oils for the box. Oilman stocks silkolene and demontweaks for the redline. You'll need 2 litres for the Vr box.
  11. Thats a good price usually more around £800+vat. Where abouts is this place?
  12. What a pain. Cant see the compression being the cause of the stalling. good numbers though 230Bhp is nothing to be sniffed at on a NA VR.
  13. Its a heat exchanger. Uses the water to cool the oil. Its not that effective but keep it when using the oil cooler to bring the oil upto temp faster.
  14. Yeah oil catch tank. Or like me lazy (oil catch tank in the garage waiting to be fitted) I just run a length of hose with a breather on the bottom down the rear of the engine. That way you dont get the fumes in the cabin.
  15. Hi Tom. How long before these will be available? I need a rear pretty soonish.
  16. I am in need of one so as soon as there available I ll take one off your hands!! possibly a softer rear as I am already running a VT comp front mount.
  17. Its about £800+vat for chains, tensioners and clutch fitted.
  18. Yeah its my list to. Standard ratios are far to long IMO, does nothing for times either.
  19. Used to have a clio 16v with williams engine and a few choice mods. Ran 14.1 @ Pod. Was a quick car still miss it really ...
  20. Thats about right for the 0-100 time. Not sure what a standard golf does it in but a standard corrado VR6 does 0-100 in 17.7 as tested by autocar. What did u use to time it?
  21. If your having trouble against the 206 180 then i think you need to get the car looked at, get it hooked up to vag com and /or put on a rolling road. Dont take this as having a go but a healthy highline (OBDII) with your mods should be close to 190bhp. And pretty much the only cars bar the M3 which should give to a hard time are the LCR and CTR.
