  1. If you dont want to remove the body completely just open the throttle and clean as far as you can.
  2. Cool if you need some help / pics just give us a shout
  3. Its held on by 4 6mm allen bolts. Plus you need to remove a couple of hoses and the throttle cable etc. Takes about 10mins to remove. Once the body is off simply clean the throttle out with some cleaning fluids and a rag. Really is very simple and should cost no more that 1/2 - 3/4 hour labour at most. £129 is quite frankly a massive rip off chap. I would go else where and save a load of green.
  4. I'd say thats a bit of a bargain.
  5. I ve heard a few reports that the new mintex etreme pads arent supposed to be that great? However the new generation green stuff pads seem to get good reviews.
  6. Nice one Haydn. Don't forget to keep us updated on prices and possible gains etc.
  7. Have a look on vw vortex I think Billdon motorsport have/are developing a kit for the 12v.
  8. I believe 300bhp is fine for the standard box. O and with that amount of power an LSD is probably in order.
  9. I believe they are there to warm the throttle. I have mine disconected and joined together. Now the throttle body never see's 90+ degrees (coolant temp) with them disconnected so it can only be a good thing.
  10. Yep straight swap. the corrado throttle body with make the accel pedal a fair bit stiffer due to the spring set up. As for gains hard to say depends on other mods but generally speaking should yield a few ponies top end. If your after a corrado manifold to go with it let me know as I ve got a spare one and its also a straight swap.
  11. I had exactly the same problem chap. And you cant buy the cap from vw god knows I tried!! In the end I simply cut the original down and extended the tread.
  12. Yeah not used mine in two years of driving it. Engine doesn't make peak power there.
  13. Its got a petrol station very near, thats about it ... lol. Its on a small industrial estate nothing really within walking distance unfortunately.
  14. Yeah there are a few about (h)
  15. Get a compression and leak down test done. Did you replace all the valve stem seals?
  16. Stealth Racing are the people to speak to.
  17. Yeah thats right. As for power hard to say exactly, roughly 190-200bhp on a 2.8 OBD1.
  18. Try Greenlight, best around for me and great with mods.
  19. Not heard of this being a problem. Mind you it is recomended that you uprate your engine mounts before fitting the manifold.
  20. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/performance_lubricants/silkolene.aspx not sure where u found it for £120 lol.
