  2. OOooooo and not to much effort either anyone else feel like helping the lazy bloke out???
  3. ok so this is a lazy research... I am hoping someone will just say... Ah what you need is.. I have noticed that over this winter period, as my car has to live outside. I am going to need to do rather a major clean. There is a little bit of the old green moss type stuff making an effort to live on a couple of spots. In the rubber by the wing mirrors, on a section of the sun roof external seal & in that gap around the rear window... Now I know I am being picky but I don't like it and I don't want it. So come march/April time I will be dealing with that! Also as I am an annual Le Mans c
  4. well that depends on if I have to scape the windows first...... Basically I give it a min or two no matter what to let the oil move a little first. I personally like to see the temperature needle just move first Like everyone I suspect. No more than 2k until the oil is up to temp. I go with the philosophy of if i have a little drive to warm all the oils and lubes up before I hit any form of speed I feel better and I know that the car will react the way it should if I have to make a sudden movement. If I was having to jump straight onto a motorway or the likes I would be waiting for some o
  5. oh and I have just noticed a 50% off advert as well. I didnt look into it though.
  6. No you're not being daft! TBH mate have a chat with a couple of specialists on the made to order type systems.. You will soon spot the guys who know their stuff. You do lose power as you go through any box. so it should also be a highflow solution. Remember you do actually need some pressure in a system. Things to ask. Basically because of the car set up and limits on the pipe diamiters the systems need to be rated for the heat they push. (very hot actually). So the systems need to be made to order. Anyone who says they have them on the shelf is telling porkies. They may have an off
  7. 3 inch is a challenge over the back axle mate. you need made to measure to achieve it. 2.5 is a better fit but there are companies who will do it for you. I used Longlife and have a 3 box with a Hgh Flow CAT. the system was from memory £340 and the cart was £200 ish (fitted). but got a deal on it. Search for Longlife. The system was 2.5mm high gradel Stainless and all was Tig rather than Mig welded. It has a lifetime G and the guys were good at what they do. 9. I read mint but I have to ask the question... is it to good to mk2 VR6????
  10. nope.... I tried to pm it..... otherwise it's to late and I'm going to my room to sulk about it...
  11. ok so location of the oil cooler.... well two places..... as said below... on the pasanger side you will need to fabricate a mounting bracket for this location. or option b is as you look at the front bumper you can mount it on the space in front of the radiator.... I must admit this is where mine is. As you are a premuim member you can read the FAQ thread for some more input from the guys on this... http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?155255.20 also here is a quick photo to show where mine is..
  12. check out long life. they'll make one for you. circa £200 bucks as free flowing as you want..... Mine is a 200.....
  13. Well I figure I am man enough to share my special moment today.... As you all may have noticed there was some snow overnight. I woke up this morning to just a couple of inches of new snow at best and it had started to rain. So as you do you start at the top of the car and start wiping the snow off the top of the car. No real issues today as it was not frozen to the car so comes straight off and as normal onto your feet. No problems so far... Getting a bit sick by now of the wet feet I think as it is not frozen I could use the windscreen wipers to do the screen and it will all just fall o
  14. Nahh I just dont get out much....
  15. I agree. I think we should be more like the scandanavian tests in Finland (I think) where it is part and parcel..
  16. I speak from a point of knowedge. I learnt to drive sideways before forwards. I was born in the middle of knowhere with access to farms and a rally driving father. Lowering tyre pressure is a really bad idea in the UK on the road. it has its place elsewhere. The only way to grip is very narrow tyres as the point of pressure is concentrated and thus you get to grip penetrating through the top layers. Don't forget the deeper snow can offer more grip than the stuff people have been sliding on all day. so off the "tram lines" CAN be a good idea. But use the cars feel on this one.... Deeper
  17. ok as you asked so nicely... I will look at the pretty girls and vote Holly
  18. anything above 2.5 and its fun over the rear crosmembers etc....
  19. Usually you have to compress them. then rotate them. they will usually have 720 degrees of adjustment.
  20. join the AA... Ok so basics... 1 Pop a plug out.. and turn over for a second or 2 tops. can you smell fuel out of the plug hole??? 2 With a pair of insulated (this is important) pliers or the likes. Pop the plug into the HT lead you pulled off. Turn the engine over whilst holding the plug against the engine block. you should see a strong physical spark. Again only turn over for a second or two.. if you are missing either of these then there you go... give us a shout
