  1. how much do timing chains normally cost to be done at a dealer garage by the way ian
  2. The last big bill on my car before i bought it was from a main dealer and it was £980.My mate owns a garage and says he would do the same big service as this for £400.Find a reputable garage near you and give it to them and make sure they stamp the book. ian
  3. You know the black plastic or hexagon mesh ones with the badge. They look really cool i think ian
  4. I think you'll need to roll them to buggery to get what you want tbh. There isnt much scope for big wheels on a golf mk3 without serious work ian
  5. They only ever made them in black and mulberry. With matching leather of each colour. Any other colour is a fake
  6. Thats really nice. How low is it,do you know??? ian
  7. im sure the seats would fit as long as you use the right runners but as for the rest i dont think you can.My mk5 TDI is much bigger inside than my VR6 so i cant see any way this would work ian
  8. halfords are now doing wheel re-furbs mate.£55 a wheel if thats any use to you.Im sure they just get in the local chips away bloke though. ian

  11. There is a machine ive seen at a ford show a few years back that fitted inside the wheel arch and then slowly rolled back and forth and gradually increased the preasure until you could see the arch starting to move.Very impressed with this rather than have to beat the shit out of my panels tbh ian
  12. Just to say you saw a particular vr6 and where you saw it.They seam quite popular on other forums ive seen ian
  13. Where can i get a set of these??? been looking all over the internet and cant find any.Theres some 2nd hand ones on e-bay but they need a re-furb.Is there any online shops i can use to check some out. Also want some mk4 clear looking headlights,k+n panel, some springs and a nice stainless exhaust. Advanced thanks ian
  14. maybe that and a different inlet manifold perhaps ian
  15. I was wondering, some people frefer a cone and some prefer a panel. When i owned ford RS's back in the day it was always a panel replacement, even on higher spec ones because the engines ran hot and just sucked in hot air. Is this the same with the vr6.??? *-) ian
  16. "quote"If you look past the fact that it's french and comes with ummm well seats, a steering wheel, air conditioning and that's about it, it's just a lot of fun period "end quote" The spec on these cars is much more than seats and nice seats. They have xenons, auto lights, electronic climate, progressive sound radio(it gets louder when you drive harder).trip computer, stalk adjust for 10cd under the passenger seat and one of the best safety ratings. They really are a drivers car but i would'nt worry about putting my mrs and child in one there a cracker all round ian
  17. mine sits at 90 smack in the middle whether im in traffic or not ian
  18. its about 15 miles from chester... ian
  19. the police rided the hotel and all they found in the kitchen was hard cheese and sour grapes.......lol ian
  20. Ive gone with direct line and they have quoted me and my girlfriend on my 95 highline insured for 4k at £350 fully comp ,protected no claims and 150 excess. Not bad i think you'l agree by the way im 34 and my other half is 28 and the car is garaged ian
  21. i need to get modding .Mine is totally standard at the moment ian
  22. well i picked it up today and it had an all clear from the dealer. What a lovely car to drive and no squeeks or rattles.Cant believe this as my 05 182 clio had more wrong with it.On par withe the 182 aswell in the performance leauges too.Although with that big gutsy engine i reckon after 80mph the highline would pull away. Its a more refind power curve too instead of all or nothing.I pulled away fom an island on the way home thinking i was in 2nd but i was in 4th and it pulled up straight away.Very impressed indeed. I just need to give it a good clean and some subtle mods and ill be a happy boy
  23. I fancy a 30mm drop and some 17's eventually but was wondering what springs you all use.I dont really want to put coilovers on as ill feel rabbit shit in the road and dont like it.Im too old now anyway. Most cars ive tinkered with have always had a standard shock and then an uprated spring... Cheers guys ian
