I've finally managed to get back into the VR fold, with a non runner. But hey ho, it's only fuel pump failure, question is, which one do I need?? I've done loads of searches but can't get a definitive answer. From looking around there's dozens of pumps that all look the same, but I don't really trust local suppliers to know the differences between 2.0l and vr6. It's a coil pack OBD1 engine, 1995, and I'm seeing that there's a 3 bar and a 4 bar variant. Does anyone know which I need and even better, have any form of a part number?? Thanks in advance peeps.

That looks well mate, love the chilli red. It's cleaned up well from the first pic to the last. Good wash and polish always works wonders.

Guys and girls, hope your all well, been a long time but I'd like to come back if you'll have me :) Basically, I sold my VR to my best mate a couple of years back, who then sold it to a stranger some time later, because I though the grass was greener lol, but I'd love the chance to buy it back! I know it's a long shot, but I'm wondering if anybody may either have it or know where it might be, if note than to assure me she's still alive and not been wrapped by some kid around a tree. Which I hope not. When sold it had the reg M6 RVW, candy white 3dr, charcoal TT comps, fk coils, full black reca

hi guys, recently bought myself a 53 plate r32, and the only query ive got is this strange nois from behind the lower bumper grill when i swith he engine off. it amost sounds like a small fan turning, but ticking really loud like as if its either stuck or catching something? anyone any ideas what this could be? it doesnt do it al the time just now and again. if im to turn the ignition back on, it stops dead and all is wuiet, but continues to make a racket when you turn the key back off again. eventually it slows down and stops on its own. its definatley not loud enough or heavy enough to be th

when you go to vw for one, they quote you for the whole thing, including the plastic intake piping too. im a bit heavy handed being a hgv mechnic, and needless to say, i broke it. i was told the ford dealers will sell just the firetrap/valve that you need, separatly, at much lower cost, with ford having fitted the vr6 into the 2.8 galaxy. or just do what ive done, and i think i speak for a lot of vr owners, and run an atmospheric breather like a small K&N, or just pipe the manifold breather down to the ground somewhere. just means your crankcase fumes are directed out the way, and it also

i get the reverse noise too mate, i just puttin it down to worn rear brakes. also hearing it when brakng and steering at the same time. car stops so im ignoring it for now lol. as for abs, they do sonetimes throw a wobbler and have a fit, if it resets when the ignition is turned off and on again i wouldnt worry too much. not least until the light is on constant. when i get an abs fault on a truck, some systems have a reset sequence of getting the wagon rolling, and swith it off, allowing it to freewheel (on the yard not on the road..), then start it back up again, still rolling. this resets th -
when i bought my CDA, i was told there are two sizes, one for smaller engines, i.e 1600's like saxos, and a bigger one for 2l and above, i.e gti/vr6. i cant see why i should cause any problems really, but dont quote me on it. im sure someone on here wil give you a definitive answer.

Anyone know what this warning light means???
Big J replied to Karr-Man's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
if its a knackered sensor mate, then simply bridge the two terminals from the car loom together to put the light out.mine came on after i fitted new pads, because the black diamonds weren't fitted with wear sensors. if your sure your pads are good up front, bridge the connections over and your dash will stay clear. -
Newbie Help - front suspension - ARB / droplinks
Big J replied to IanH26's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
no photo sorry bud, yea they do seem weak, no there isnt an alternative (to my knowledge) and ul know about when the snap. have no fear though, ive replaced one of mine, and touch wood, its been fine ever since, so they are better than the look. id just change in for a normal replacement and plod on. can be done without taking the wheel off too if you just jack it up. -
Adding a Rear Anti-roll Bar - any good?
Big J replied to Knightrider's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
interested to know more on this guys because i find mine handles totally sh1t. period. FK collies, camber/tracking set up, and still it feels like it kinda falls into corners, almost like its gone really soft and squishy lately. Steering takes some pulling then all of a sudden, bang! it becomes a case of point and hope. i need to post in the wheels and tyres section too really beacuse im under the theory my staggered 8.5j rear and 7.5j front 17's, on 205 tyres really isnt helping matters. sorry about that i got into a typing rhythm there, but if anyone can shed any light as to ARB choice, new -

just a quick one, im in the middle of replacing the oil cooler seal between block and cooler, and i think ive been given the wrong one.. am i right in thinking there is two different seals? ive been supplied with part number 038117070, but etka tells me i need 038117070A? ive answered my own question really because the one that came out had 2 tabs on it, but the new ones just an O ring, so really im asking, "can i get it on the road using the O ring or just take it back and change it in the morning?"

up to you mate, but ive got a slight background hum in mine, not quite as bad, and i cant pinpoint it at all being a mechanic. ive just learnt to ignore it now nd blame a rumbling bearing somewhere. it certainly not getting any worse so im waiting for it to develop and one weekend ill do it if i gets worse. no performance losses at all, oils ok, so box is doing its job for me.
