  1. He he thats great. I live in a part of Oslo with alot of families and old people. Everybody hates my sound. When i popoff they shake their heads;). I even got a note on my windscreen after i pulled past another car after red light at an intersection. It said: you drove like a pig over the intersection, its people like you that make the traffic dangerous. This is our children school area (it was eight in the evening;)) well, I put it in my car and im going to hold on to it. I guess that people enjoy cars more in the uk!
  2. I have a 3" downpipe, but before the cat its only 2", but i have to get "MOT" before i change it to something bigger. . . . . thinking 3" al way to the 2 resonators at the end, wich are 2,5". I dont know what the ar is. . . . . The compressor side is .60 ar, but as i put on the heat shield i cant see the exhaust ar. (And im not going to take it of today because its snowing;)) Checked the specs on the turbokit and the turbo is T04B. External wastegate tial 38. Redtops, with remap. Something i forgot?
  3. And your vento is not turbo i guess? Sounds like over fueling yes, but if its not turbo im sorry then i have no clue. This happened to me once when my Golf was N/A, and that was when i was reving before a launch. But never happened after. How is your MPG?
  4. Ok, I have done some work on my car this weekend. . . .mostly heat shielding. But then i desided to take my intake manifold off and sand it down . . . . . . I´ve been reading about how to do this and I had imagined how much job it was, but It was SO much harder! It took ALL weekend Thursday through Sunday. Posting some pics. II didnt want to go ALL chrome on the manifold though, I like it better brushed. (no I did not giive up;).) And then the rest of my engiine bay doesnt look that shitty compared. Anyhow, has anybody tried fitting an electronic boost controller? Is it worth the money? It

  7. _Ok, thanks for the ansvers. I have been looking around and got some hints and tips. Heat shielding the turbo is suposed to reduce lag so im going to fit my heatshield tomorrov. Will keep u posted.

  9. I´m running 0,6 bar ca 9 psi. My downpipe is 3" and then 2,5" the rest of the way. Maybe an electronic boost controller would help against the lag? What is up with your turbo? My real question was, what does the numbers like .60 a/r mean. (on the turbo specs.
  10. I have a garrett t04e turbo and its too laggy for me . . . . . I want to put out 300 hp with another turbo that spools up faster. The t04e doesnt spool full before 4200-4300 rpm. I have thought about the gt3071R, but there are so many variants of compressor and turbine housing and i dont know what they mean. Could need some help. Thanks This car has aproxx the same figs.
  11. Sounds like the conector that actiivates the interval wiping is a liittle to sensitive. Maybe there is something wrong wiith the whole arm mekanism. I would ask Vw and see if thiis is a common problem. It could as simple as buying a used one that works.

  20. Ok, I have cheked with some forums and it seems that vortech doesnt sell the o-ring gasket for the charger. . . . Is the charger new? If yes it seems unlikely that the O-ring is busted. I would try to thighten the clamp on the charger to the right amount of tourque. maybe its loose?
  21. Hi, I have read the whole forum post and my recomandation would be: 1. Check if you have the right oil dipstick with your local vw dealer. (this is important for many reasons other than the oil return) 2. Change the charger gasket. (the one that the clamp clamps) 3. Unscrew the charger feed and return lines and when you screw them on again, use some kind of threadlock (i have that on my turbo) this keeps the oil from leaking. Dont buy the stage2 set yet before you get this running. The VR6 specialist also made my setup, but it also was a BIG hassle. But all in all they did a good and solid j
  22. Is there a way of knowing if any IC pipe is loose, other than powerloss and a broken turbo? I had a leek in my IC setup and i didnt feel anything, until my turbo broke that is. I was driving in 200kmh (in germany) for over one houre.
  23. I agree with "kevhaywire". This kit seems real nice http://www.hgp-turbo.de/ but its expensive. I would also recomend that you get a good oil cooler! Thats important. I Have the atp kit stg2 on my vr and its to laggy and agressive, with that big t04e turbo. Now that my turbo is broken (to hot oil:() I am trying to get a t3. I would like to hear the turbo spool under 3000 rpm´s Also, I am making my dumpwalve return the air so I dont trick the MAF.To many embaressing moments when the engine shuts down;).   24. I got my vr6 turboed there. very pleased with the result. Aproxx 300 hp and let me tell you . . . . . its BAD;). They are not that good in english so comunication isnt top. Everything else is great.
