I think I'm right in saying that quite a lot of the loom is different also... its not easy thats for sure. Tom converted his and it was a bit of a bastard judging by the amount of swearing and abuse...

I had schrik 268s and there was a definate jump shortly after 4k and then they surged on to near 7k

I'd say mid-low 14s should be classed as "goes well" for a front drive car In my case it was my first ever drive at the strip and the car was straight off the road with crap in the back etc... I'm sure a decently driven healthy mk2vr could break 14s - I'm not sure how much you could get from an R32 - they are too damned heavy!

Oioi Gary... I was wondering when you'd show up here I've done a 14.4 in my mk2 I'd say it's pretty close all the way along. We've followed a tweaked R32 from some traffic lights and were quite suprised by how slowly it got going... As said once moving theres bugger all in it.

The main things you need are the engine and gearbox, ecu and loom, front subframe and engine mounts. I did the whole conversion for aprox £800 including buying everything. I can highly recommend FK suspension, I have the konigsport model and they are amazing (possibly a bit pricey for a road car though - mines for track) Also, you can't go wrong with the brembos from an Ibiza Cupra R - these fit easily to mk3 hubs.

Mine quite happily finds the limiter in 5th ~ 140mph ish. Stupid lowered final drive! Plenty to come
