    Mate, i can't believe you got done for this. That copper has gotta be such a c*nt to do you for this (although according to the law, within his rights to do so). I would write to DVLA, requesting they cover cost of your fine.

    Hi all, Thought you might be interested to know that following the UK Government's freedom of information act you can now get access to ALL speed camera offences registered in the last 12 months. Did you know that every time your car goes past a speed camera, even 1mph over the set limit, it is registered and put on a database? You only get a ticket if you are way over the limit or, (this is the bit that I didn't know) if you receive over 10 near misses, you will be classed as a serial offender and get a ticket the next time you go just over the limit. This is why you hear of people being done

    Mate, i know how you feel, about the guilt thing. My mum had borrowed my VR a few months ago and managed to ding it on a fence post. She felt really bad and offered to cover the cost of repairs, but she doesn't have much money and i just can't bring myself to make her pay for it! Anyway, hope you get it all sorted in the end mate.

    Nice one Gav. Yeah i never bothered fitting the cold air feed on mine, as i heard it does lose a bit of the noise. Nothin quite beats that roar does it!

    If we do the sports day type event, you gotta include that relay race where you have to put your forehead on the pole and spin round for 30secs, before running (or at least, attempting to!) through the cones! You know the one, like of those Jap game shows!

    Well, at last I have him running again! Ben kindly came over armed with his VAGCOM lead. We ran the diagnostic and only found one fault, which was the Engine Speed sensor, if i remember right :^) Now for the weird bit......i said to Ben "here look, this is what happens when i try and start it"......turned the key and it starts first time! I turned it off and tried again and same thing happened. We left it a while, had a cuppa then tried once more and again it started first time and idled perfectly. Can anyone make any sense of this? The only thing we can think of is that the ECU

    Hi and welcome mate. Just reading through your thread and thought i would re-iterate, DON'T go back to standard suspension set up, SERIOUSLY! As the others said, could raise it slightly as a compromise, but with stock suspension, you may as well be driving the QE2! Air filter, I would go with the BMC as it has built-in heat shield. You get an awsome roar when planting your foot, but sounds normal otherwise. As for your wheels, i like 'em mate. But the standard BBS are also nice when in good nick. Really sort the car well.
