  2. HI ONE AND ALL, I KNOW THIS IS A VR6 FORUM BUT BEING THE BEST FORUM ON THE WEB I WAS HOPING SOMEONE MIGHT BEABLE TO HELP ME OUT WITH A LITTLE MATTER.. I HAVE GOT A MKIII TDI THAT HAS JUST COME IN AND I NEEDED TO SWAP A FUEL PUMP OVER. I GAVE THE JOB TO ONE OF THE LADS BUT THEY FORGOT TO PUT THE TIMING PIN IN THE FUEL PUMP PULLEY WHEN TAKING OFF!!!! IT LINES UP TDC ON THE CRANK AND NO 1. BUT AM UNSURE OF HOW TO TIME UP THE INJECTOR UNIT..... ANYBODY HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM/ISSUE??? ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED AS I REALLY DONT WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE WITH IT ( . CHEERS
  3. Hi one and all, am looking for some advice on where I should take my car for some re-wiring work/advice on my car?? am based in derby so would prefer a midlands based company to do it... someone relatively cheap that will do a good job and not rip us off... any advice would be much appreciated. cheers John
  4. Hi all, was just wondering if anyone knew whether subaru impreza wheels fit onto mk3 vr6 hubs?? heard they had same pcd but wondered if anyone knew exactly/poss fitted them??? if so does that apply to all model years of impreza?? cheers John
  5. Hi... could anyone help us out... have a mk2 vr6 with a 96 engine in... it has a cable led throttle body so im guessing its an OBD1 but I thought they ended late '95??! any ideas on how I can check to find out which one it is?? Plus has anyone fitted VDO gauges for the centre console to their mk2 vr6, if so what senders are required?? cheers
  6. Hi all... just wondered if anybody cud help us over what porsche alloys will fit my MK2 VR6... It has MK3 subframes/suspension and hubs so automatically is a 5-stud. What porsche alloys will directly fit?? what will fit with adapters?? and how big can i go in respects to the wheel arch without any rubbing... It has adjustable coilovers so can alter if need be but currently sat -40mm and happy wit that so dont really wanna change.... if anybody has fitted some then let us know!! cheers
  7. Its mk2 wiring, pre-90 I hasten to add... as a result the wiring has been splined in places. Have the 3 pin gti rad fan on at the moment, power supply, earth and rad sensor.... so wot is the red/white wire on the 4-pin for then??? As for wot fits it depends wot you want to do... the corrado rad is slightly thinner than the golf so will make the dual fans easier to fit in the space but I have a golf rad but will still just about fit in... u need corrado dual fans however as the golf ones sit too deep.... if someone wishes to correct me then go right ahead.
  8. Hi all, have got a mk2 vr6 and av just bought a corrado rad fan for it... it is the 4-pin plug and was wondering wot wires go where?? obviously the brown is earth, the red/green is live/power supply but wot are the red/blk and red/white??? Also my current rad fan is consatnt when i turn the ignition on, it could be the rad sensor but how do I check this?? any comments, much appreciated!!
  9. Hi all... went to MidlandVW today to see Joe and he had a quick look at it for us... turns out that the box is a vr but with a G60 selector plate on top, hence tightness of selecting, which I shall be changing. a replacement cable on the way to sort the stiffness out as this should cure the problem I hope until I get round to sorting out a hydraulic setup! As for the rad it is a vr with a mk2 fan on it... will be looking to put some corrado dual fans on in the near future, so if anybody knows of one going let us know... sensible prices of course!! Will post some pics up soon but till then than
  10. Am looking at a corrado VR6 rad setup, which is a slimer version... would this fit into a golf and would it require a different rad support????
  11. Hi... thanks for feedback. Not sure about the gearbox as it is driven by a cable and isnt your standard gti unit either... will have to check this out a bit more... As for the rad setup I think its best I do change over to the VR6 rad/fans, so cheers for that.... do I need to change the rad support on this? as im guessing the gti wont work with the vr6 rad...
  12. Hi.. Jus bought a MK2 golf VR6 conversion... Its been done nicely but there are a couple of items I think need addressing???! Firstly its had a G60 gearbox put in place but the clutch feels v.low and tight. It had a new clutch 3000 miles ago when the conversion was done but doesnt appear to have a self adjusting cable on it... does the g60 box have one of those, if not any ideas for this remedy other than a replacement cable??! Secondly, the car appears to be running hot... it has a standard MK2 gti radiator and expansion tank... is this a problem and should i upgrade to a mk3 rad and tank???
