  1. They have basically written off a perfectly decent mk4, when i say written off i mean it literally, who the fcuk is gonna buy that abomination when he wants to sell it, i can't believe anyone could do that. It makes me sick to see a waste of that magnatude!!
  2. my 96 with recaros (non highline) has them.
  3. Well please I joined www.PARTSGATEWAY.com and did a search for radiator fan, its a web site that searches loads of scrappys and finds your bit. Anyway within a day i got a quote from Stevens VW dismantler and i bought a radiator fan for £55 including VAT and delivery !! Good breaker, polite prompt service, and next day delivery !!!
  4. Cheers Steve Us Norwich boys stick together!!! Dave
  5. OK next time its a nice day i'll clean it with the proshine and take a picture, just got to work out how to put pics on. In order to ensure i never have to use water again i invested in 4 large bottles did my old mans 7 series which looked better than when he picked it up from the showroom 6 months ago, and my bro did his warrior in 20 mins(big truck) showroom shine!! Anyway because i bought so much of the stuff and also all my mates are now buying it aswell the geezer from the website e-mailed me a 10% discount code and said that i can give it to all my friends, now even though you lot were
  6. what patrol car do you have ?? Also i'm glad people like you are getting these people off the streets. If there is one thing that pisses me off its people that don't pay there way!! We all do what makes them special.
  7. i would show you the evidence but i never know how to put pic on here. i just thought that i'd let you know about it, All i can say is that i usually spend hours with maguires wax and this stuff gets a better finish in a fraction of the time. if you read the other reveiws on the web page there is a geezer that been in the motor trade 30 years and he now swears by it. how could it just hide the dirt???? my car would be covered in lumps of shiny dirt??? If it doesn't remove the dirt why is the cloth dirty??? Think about it. When my mate drove past in his R5 turbo project car i stopped him and t
  8. Sound mad doesn't it !!! car wash without water. Well being a ocd sufferer my VR gets cleaned in a week more than most people clean theres in a year. Anyway i have found the most amazing cleaning product ever http://www.netparts.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=56 Proshine spray and shine!!! You have got to try this product, basically you spray it on your filty panel and wipe it with a microfibre cloth and the panel comes up better than new, you honestly wont believe it till you try it. It is safer to use to clean you car than water as the special formular encases
  9. My dream car. R32 is the only way forward after having a VR
  10. Mate i would suggest that you use Castrol GTX magnatex 10/40 , its shit hot and should quieten you engine no end, you never know what cheap shit the garage sticks in whic is why i do it myself. Also i used Greased lightening instant engine treatment and although they got in shit for over hyping there advertising i promise you that it really does work, i added it to my engine and i can now get 34 mpg and my engine is really quiet.
  11. snedboy, don't sound so upset mate, i for one like watching videos like that and would like to thank you for posting it for our enjoyment !!!! however i think that the geezer that is driving in the video is a prick, which i think is most peoples opinion. you should check out www.streetfire.net theres some cool turbo vr vids and millions of others on there
  12. As some of you guys might have read i have been smoked by a mini and a couple of other more modern cars, however i love my VR to bits i think VR's are plenty quick enough. if you want more power and you're VR is in good working order get it supercharged which is what i'm definatly going to do when i've got my list of problems sorted.
  13. oh and thanks purple high line monster for the fan lead, that looks really hopeful
  14. well i knocked one thing off my list today and got a sunroof motor for £20 off the scrappy. I know i was moaning about my VR but i've been driving it alot today and i do love it completly and i think that its worth spending the money. I hope that people reading this thread won't be put off. Seriously i think that VR's are awesome and i think that i'm gonna keep mine for a long time to come. i think that youd struggle to find another type of car for under 5 grand that could offer that much.
  15. thanks for your help Kaz, i spoke to my mate who works at vw and he said they are different which i'm gutted about. i think the outputs are the same but the blades are different sizes apparently so they won't fit in the space available. He might be wrong though, obviously main dealers can only do things by the book. Anyway thanks alot for your time mate
  16. fast car, although the geezer is a plank driving like that in a built up area, and then videoing it and posting it on the internet so everyone can see, ummmmmmmm because of coarse there are loads of v6 clios around that area covered in nice stickers, they'll never work out it was him!!!
  17. yeah i just found out about the fan, gutted. I 'm really suprised considering that some guys on here have chargers noone seems to know anything or have custom cooling. If i'm wrong and anyone on here does know about custom fan setups and indeed has one i would be interested to here what you've got and how you set it up ect......
  18. Cheers Kaz for the Fan info, it handy as they are based in Norwich where i am, just wondering tho the Fans they are selling are for the Carrado Vr6 does anyone know if they are the same as the Golf????
  19. oh yeah thats another thing, ive got oil weeping from my gearbox, changing the oil this weekend, gear changes are sometimes a bit rough, i'm hoping the gearbox isn't another thing that'll need to be added to my growing list
  20. i think they look cool mate, i really like the original wheels which is why i had mine powder coated and treated them to some new yokos, have you thought about having them chromed ?
  21. I love my VR to bits but its now starting to cost me loads of money, i need sunroof motor(£25 scrappy) timing chains and clutch(£350) new exhaust(£350) suspension(£250) To top it all off i got a quote yesterday for new radiator fans as mine are really noisey and i think thay are gonna die very soon £800 .... I have asked before but does anyone know anything about custom fans such as spal fans and has anyone done them and can advise what setup and how to do ect..... VR's are great but the don't half seem to cost loads on parts and pretty difficult to work on. i'm gonna have to do the wor
  22. mate are you sure you're one isn't on the bonnet prop ? i didn't realise that my VR came with one. its the Black plastic thing on the prop. bloody useless mind you but just about does the job.
  23. Surfing the net and found this which is really interesting, apparently the later vr's have got different upper chains set up which is far more durable than the early ones. interesting stuff anyway check it out [blockquote][/blockquote] http://www.gruvenparts.com/Garys%20DIY's/Garys%20DIYs/timing_chains_replacement.htm
