yes indeed they are cost me £80 and paint was about £40 a wheel aswell as tyre fitting and balancing. tyres were £100 each though ouch. would have loved a set of nice BBS's splitties but so expensive and a complete barsteward to clean.
not ordered anything yet mate still offshore till tue then il have a look and then il order what is necessary and have it fitted a week today hopefully!!! i went cheap wheel option and got them painted to my liking as below
Devildub_06 no not been home yet just antisipating the inevatable realy. starting to sound like a garage job now as im to dam lazy and short tempered to be fcuking about with seized parts i do enough of that at work to last me a life time. the balljoints are built into the wishbones on a mk3 so will need a splitter. so what i will prob need to order is wishbones antiroll bar bushes possibly uprated ball joints
i have recontly discovered i may need to change my wishbones. whats involved??? should i do ball joints and track rod ends at the same time??? is it a job i could attempt on my drive way???
i bought a B&M short shifter and it was simple to fit and made a huge difference the best £100 i ever spent on the car it halvd the gearstick throw and it feels far more precise now actually feel it going into gear.
and i went to all the effort of getting a timer relay and wiring it in as cant seem to get my bulb to even come on and yes i have checked the bulb!!! also no fault showed up on the vagcom and the abs does work any idea why??
yes just dirt trapped between the back of the steering wheel and the steering column casing just get a rag inbetween with a bit of wd and give it a wipe
yes il have a go myself ahve a few mates that are mechanics so will ask one of them if i get stuck. have been meaning to get round to having the camber and the like done since i fitted the 17's. u should look on ECP their wishbones are only £40-£60 and u could find somewhere alot cheaper than vw to fit the bits and do a good job. cheers for the help
yes im running what i think is spax shocks and eibach springs were on the car when i bought it damping adjustable but the car seems to rattle even more when their set to soft. im mechanically minded working offshore as an instrumentation technician and and reasonably clued up as in i d be able to be do most jobs i was given the part. just the fact that im not a mechanic means im not best at diognosing problems. will do as u say and jack the car up when i get onshore and check the wishbones. sounds expensive but being in the offshore game il manage to afford it. the exact problem is that the ca
as i work offshore my car sits for up to 2 weeks without moving this seems to have led to the rear disks corroding. they have corroded to the extent that it no longer dissapears after a bit of use. it feels as if my rear brakes are not working would this be due to the disks being covered in rust or is it more likely the calipers are seized???
no slim il admit i did not have the power checker before and after the mods just off the book. guess it could have been 250 bhp prior to the exhaust and ind kit and have dropped 56 seriously though i know aswell as alot of people do that OBD2's are prone to producing more than the stated factroy 174 due to different throttle body etc.
since fitting my 17's the care seems to take a fair rattling. have noticed when at low speeds 0-10mph on rather bumpy untarred roads their is a rattle sounds like balls joints to me but could it be track rod end bushes wishbone damage???
doh. just replaced the belt though when i did the power steering pump. would i be aswell doing the water pump while im their save hassle of doing it in the future????
ok il try the plugs and leads and if that don't work at least i have spares. car is a coilpack by the way and plugs can't be knackered as the car is ok once it warms up.
