    Okay, sorry, it seems i panicked a bit about the temp. The guage does what everyone elses does, i've always been surprised at how quick it gets to the centre though. As for white smoke, yeah it seems to give off quite a bit just after 20 secs running, but not when it's warmed up. But the coolant needs topping after every 60 odd miles running. Using the pink G12 stuff too. Sorry if this seems normal to you, still getting to know the car, even after a year. Thanx for the response everyone. &|

    Just read Mickelsons thread on the loss of coolant in his car. Mine drinks coolant like it's going out of fashion, yet alone a slow loss over a 3 month period. I'm very alarmed. My engine gets hot in no time at all, been told thats the norm by a couple of people. What's anyones opinion on these?

    Cheers lads. Thought it was wierd that u said all the arches Jus, sorry m8. The bodyshop has done it before, they prepare rally cars in their spare time so should know a thing or two about it. The arches are getting fully sprayed so thought i'd take the opportunity whilst it's there.

    So it's just a case of grinding them down, eh Steve? How close to to the rim of the arch would you recomend m8? Is it the same principle for the rears too? Cheers for pic Mr Ben, would have loved to see your face when you first saw that going on, scary shit!

    It's actually motivated me to becoming a Premium Member. Pay Pal isn't working at the mo so will try another day. Very interesting read, especially about the EGR. My car was originally sold in Germany, and I have some extra tubes floating around the back of the manifold which i don't see in other VR6 engine bays. Could this be an EGR? I've been told the German cars have them because of the strict emission laws. Very silly question this but, does anyone know if it can be removed? or if there's any advantage in having it? :?

    All of them? Jeez, not sure the bodyshop will be happy with that. Will see if he's done it before, if he hasn't, then i might have to reconsider 16's instead. Any pictures flying about of how this is done? Cheers for the reply Jus.

    Just to clarify some points here. Whilst the cars in the bodyshop, was thinking of doing something with the arches so that in the near future, i can slam the car on 8x17's or more than likely 7.5x17's. I know Justin mentioned on another thread that he only had the fronts cut and was running those beautiful TT competition rims which are also 7.5x17. Hoping not to have to do anything to the rears. Is there a link or something that could show me whats invloved? Or can any of you guys explain the way go about this? Thanx Nelson

    That's exactly what i intend on doing. Couldn't find the single top strip ones either. Ordered the M3 crystals and might try and spray the inside of the lense with red tint, might even do all of it. See how brave i'm feeling.

    Spent about 2k so far since last November. Exhaust, filter, alarm, ICE (not including the gear i already had) and engine problems, and that bill will be increased by another 1K by the end of this month. &|

    If you're gonna get a new car SPLdrag, then why not wait for the MK5 Golf GTI. 2.0FSI TURBO beast thet pushes 200BHP in standard form. It's come out here in Spain and it looks amazing. Surely Puerto Rico can't be too far behind with the VW range. There's talk of an R34, but that could be bull. You cannot beat the sound of a VR6 with an exhaust system either.

    Will a Superchip give good results? Had chipped 325 and that was pretty awsome. Anybody got any tales to tell about them?

    Yeah mines a OBD1 with coilpack. There are both product codes and order codes on that list. I presume VW would use the order codes. Could be very wrong though. Cheers for the reply m8.
