  1. Yes! This guy has been on vortex for years! Stop doubting! Its real! Its his! Its fast!
  2. Aussie hatchbacks had to come with anchor points for kiddie seats in the back, so I have a factory fit rear strut brace. PITA to fold down rear seats and put big stuff in....
  3. Front bar - increase understeer, rear bar - reduce understeer. A bit of a conflict?
  4. Daily runner here. Would prefer it if I didnt have to!
  5. We keep seeing the same threads over and over. Thought a reminder was timely.
  6. Looks tops. I'd do without the mesh in the bonrath vents though - how bout fixing on a 3inch piece of 90 degree plastic tubing and painting that in on the drivers side - ready to fix 3 inch cai tube on the back - just a though while your there!

  9. http://www.giacusa.com/programs.php?mpid=68 takes rev limiter to 7200rpm. a little bit more va va voom.
  10. Good on ya - I forgot where I last saw that link. I need a new aerial base and whip, as the Aussie sun has perished both. And the creme de la creme on the site - the felt tape I have been after for AGES - Thanks!
  11. Massive improvement. The yanks love this sort of wheel, as do the Europeans, and the amount of arch work relates only to how low you want to go....
  12. The one in the desert at the petrol station was for the diesel vw engines I think...
  13. The 312's are on and everything I hoped for and more. Event the splash guards fit and dont foul anything - one was rubbing and a gentle prise away and all is clear. Interestingly, my mechanic said the banjo bolts on the mk 3 hoses I had went straight into the audi s3 brakes that went on - same thread! I have greenstuff on there, which came with the purchase of the s3 brakes. The discs are plain, not grooved or slotted and around town that is a far better option for me - feels stock but STRONG stock. Someone pulled out in front of me at motorway speeds the other day and I gave the brake a fi
  14. The mk4 calipers use the mk3 carriers, but require different brake lines. Its considered a worthwhile change and there are established kits out there, like at www.ecstuning.com Have a butchers.
  15. How many vr6oc members does it take to........ Just messing with you mate!
  16. Still, the shrick looks a bit of a dogs dinner, and the eip retains a factory look. I'd have it with a set of hot cams...if someone gave them to me....
  17. Subject to my small dilemna being fixed some other way, I may be a taker. Watch this space!
  18. Thanks for all the input. Antera - I have vf mounts - vf mounts is vf mounts - they dont have road/race versions afaik. RIX - The gearbox one must stay - in fact I think entry to the vr6oc must require proof that you have this mod - the gearchange is 10 times better, even before a short shift kit. I am sure that the shift is helped by all three mounts together, but most of the gearchange improvement MUST be form the small gearbox mount. I am tempted to go the dub25 route - a stock mount at the back, but am wary of the imbalance/weakest link concept. I'm coming to the uk in June, so could all
  19. As well as being more heavier it's more better, too. You should see 24mpg on a mixed run.
  20. Hey, I just had all three mounts - front and rear engine and gearbox swapped out for vf engineering poly mounts. I needed to replace the gearbox one as it was pissing oil out and the gearchange wouldnt always locate well. The transformation in gearchange is unbelievably good, and the clicking I had in the stering just to the right of straight ahead has gone too! A lucky coincidence as I would never have put it down to that. However! The noise vibration and harshness has increased too, and I think I may have gone past the point of a good compromise. The car puts down power really well, but the
  21. I had exactly this with the rs4's. I would recommend a 5mm spacer, or, better still, change the brake set up to 312mm audi tt/s3 setup. It sits further towards the outside diameter of the wheel and also 6mm further inboard.
  22. Best swapping to a set of mk4 rear calipers if it has come to that stage imho....
  23. Its a mildly worked 2.9l manifold. Looks good, cost lot for what it is. You are paying for them to paint it and slap their name on the top too.
  24. Theres a lesson in that for us all, but until I learn what it is, I'll second that.
  25. Uh...no? :? I'd be up for the cup holder but have heard too many "it don't fit" storys
