  1. that's dreamworld unfortunately - one day though, one day...
  2. the 205 sounds excellent - I've been reading PPC magazine quite a lot recently and they're building a 205 track car too. I was driving a mate's Alfa GTV at the weekend - fantastic engine note from the 3.0 V6 - that could be addictive!
  3. ha ha, not a bad idea! So what you going for instead of your MK3 then - any decisions?
  4. yes it was indeed, thanks. Trouble is it was just sitting in the garage week to week and I wasn't really using it for what it was intended - to be driven!
  5. well the guy who bought it had wanted to buy it when I got it last year! Don't think he's a member of this club, but he's into the vw scene I think. Got
  6. I sold it yesterday, was deciding for a while about whether to or not, but in the end I was hardly ever using it so thought it should go. Still, I've still got the MK5 GTI so that'll make up for it a bit!
  7. well I'm the manager of a mortgage arrears collections team, and often have to end up repossessing people's houses - not the nicest job in the world but someone's got to do it!
  8. I wasn't particularly thinking of selling Mark, just might sell if something else comes along that I really want - I always fancy different cars, at the moment I think I can't really do the car justice for the amount I use it! Still, at least got the battery draining problem finally sorted - it's running very well now
  9. hey, I said the same thing to you when you were selling yours! Tell you what, I'll swap as long as no money needs to change hands!!!
  10. As my car was registered in August 1990, I have now renewed my insurance on a classic basis with HIC -
  11. I must admit I'm with Nerih there, it looks very similar to the MK5 GTI, especially the interior (apart from those dodgy seats). I think I'll stick to my GTI for the moment, although would be rude not to go and have a test drive when it's in the showrooms...
  12. I also posted a thread a bit further down about Vagtech near MK (this is where I live but work in Watford - the other way round to you!) and Jon there was brilliant, and pretty cheap too
  13. I think Manj is the man for that - he did take some I think and said he was going to post them up
  14. yeah, good apart from only Manj and I turned up on the sunday!! We ended up not having a display inside the hall, I was out in the show and shine area and Manj was inside - needless to say we didn't win best club display! I thought it was a pretty good show though, despite the generally poor attendance (not just by our club but overall).
  15. yep, I'm up for the saturday defo, not 100% about sunday yet
  16. well I'm heading up from down south so will prob meet you guys at the show on sunday unless anyone else coming up from the south and wants to meet? mob 07977530085
  17. can't remember the address but I put a post in the Parts Suppliers and Companies section with their website - it's www.vagtech.co.uk There's a map on there. It's dead easy to find though - basically head down the A5 (towards Dunstable) til the Little Chef roundabout, head towards Leighton Buzzard there (3rd exit I think) then all the way down that road, turn right towards Soulbury then turn right into their road. It's only about 10 mins away from MK
  18. picked my car up last night after having a few REALLY niggly problems fixed, and it's fantastic to drive again. I had the throttle cable replaced and it's like driving a new car! My old one was too short apparantly and this was causing the throttle to stick - was horrible to drive. Also hopefully now my battery will stop draining every 2 days as that's been sorted out too. I got it done at Vagtech near Milton Keynes, and they were brilliant, I'd definitely recommend if anyone lives near there and has probs with their car
  19. Have just got my car back from Vagtech (about 10 mins away from Milton Keynes - the guy with the turbo R32), and Jon has given a brilliant service - he found the cause of my battery draining problem which has been bugging me for a year and which no-one else could find, and sorted some other bits out - not only that but he cleaned my car before he gave it back to me! So if you want a decent independent veedub specialist who knows his stuff, then you could do a lot worse. www.vagtech.co.uk
  20. that's what I like to see, a few more for the sunday! I reckon a couple more and we'll be a force to be reckoned with...
  21. I got 15.6 in my Mk5 GTI, standard
  22. erm, sorry to be a pain but just realised I'll prob have to work on saturday - could do sunday though, but looks as if it might be just me on the stand...anyone else up for sunday?
  23. I'd be up for the saturday Claire
  24. I've always thought BMW's were driven by arseholes, and that just proves my point!
