  1. I also had this problem and as per James4287 I just fitted new suspension and it was sorted - I had one v scary moment though!
  2. I've used them before and can also testify to their professionalism and knowledge, and the guy who runs it you can tell is a real enthusiast too, which always helps
  3. I really like the colour of them - suits the car down to the ground I reckon
  4. I think Pete's right - I was looking into it a while ago and only Mk 3.5 will fit - rarer than hen's teeth to get hold of though
  5. as above, as long as Martin Brundle is still involved on commentating - he's the only one that makes any sense half the time! Great for it to be back on BBC now
  6. Amazak, how much did you pay for the GTI if you don't mind me asking? Only that I might be looking to sell mine soon so need to get an idea of prices - PM me if you don't want to make it public. Cheers
  7. I must admit that's the one thing I missed when I didn't have a VR - the noise. As great as my GTI is the four pot just never comes close to sounding as good - hence why I bought a VR as a 2nd car!
  8. that's quite cool, I've never seen a radio controlled VR6 before
  9. looks very nice mate, reminds me of a red MK2 VR I had once with rallye front end etc - my seats weren't nearly as nice as yours though!
  10. yeah the one about the coat is laugh out loud funny but only works once you've read the serious thread. Detailer or not, that is still a bit crazy I reckon - I mean we all like cars but I would say 90% of people on this site just love driving them first and foremost and with that type of car you'd be scared to!
  11. http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=347865&page=1 then once you've read the first thread (it does take a while but it's worth it), then read this second MUCH funnier version... http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25953
  12. depends what you're going to use the car for - unless you spend mega bucks on coilovers (Koni's etc) then the ride will probably be on the firm side, if you're going to show the car and want to raise and lower the height a lot, then obviously coilovers are the ones to go for. If like me you would probably never adjust your suspension and want a decent enough ride without being harsh, then go for shocks and springs - I've got a Weitec setup on mine and I'm very happy with it (and also saved myself about £500 over buying a decent set of coillies)
  13. My cups aren't that wide at the rear, but are the same all round (7.5 x 17) with H&R adapters and don't stick out at all - in fact they fill the arches quite nicely. Not sure if this helps you at all. There are some other pics of them on one of my threads if you want to take a look
  14. well I tend to use Lord Sheraton leather cream - name is a bit poncy but does seem to work ok - you can get it in most decent supermarkets I think
  15. I was walking up the street near work the other day and heard this gorgeous noise coming up the road behind me, and lo and behold it was a Corrado VR - makes me glad to own a VR if mine sounds like that to passers by!
  16. yeah, I reckon those wheels are slightly better than the GTI ones you had, lol!
  17. I'm the same as Amazak - would probably never adjust coilovers if I had them, hence I just bought Weitec shocks and springs and they'll do me - if i was doing loads of track days or something then coilovers would be on my list I reckon - as you say mike lots of cash
  18. yeah, looks much better now it's dropped, just needs a good clean (bit like mine at the moment)!
  19. I think so, he does pretty much everything as far as I'm aware - best thing is just to give him a buzz and have a chat to him
  20. I love mine!! I've got a red 5 door Mk5 (which my wife uses most of the time) and it's a lovely car to drive, fuel not too bad either (managed average 33mpg on a run to France last year and wasn't hanging about). We've got the standard manual box though.

    car dilema

definitely madness mate - would she even get insured on something with that kind of power as her first car? I think the premium would be huge. Best off sticking to something like the Lupo first off and get some experience. After passing my test I managed to crash my dad's Orion 1.6i Ghia with probably a third of the power - ha ha (mind you I was younger I guess)!
  22. i've only just come across this thread - it's amazing how a few subtle mods can make a car look so cool (from when you originally got it) - I really like the look you've got on that mate, very sweet
