  1. the next thing is most definately to put a chin spoiler back on it, it looks unlowered at the front becuase of it . id stick it on even if it rubs since youve got it on your first pic and it looks great!
  2. yeah, the only reason i'd go for the r32 is the 4x4. mk4's dont have the charm that the mk3 inherited from the mk2's (and lets just say the mk3 didnt inherit that much hehe). Stick with it and think of it this way, no one else on the road has a vr6 cabrio like yours there are millions of r32's, and once yours is up and supercharged you'll be merrily wasted r32's .
  3. ill be selling my BMC in the first week of august for under 100 quid, its only done 2300 miles since january (group buy), have the original box and pipe work to fit the maf. message me if ur interested, like i said you'll have to wait until august the 7th (sunday, 13 days from now)

  6. can i point you all to http://www.gti-vr6.net/library/ and check out the oil change how to with pictures.... lol
  7. yeah self preservation is always a good thing isnt it m8 .
  8. maybe if you moved the maf upstream you'll solve your drivability issues...
  9. hehe i mean 'before the charger' . I think if you imagine the airflow as a stream, the origin of the air is the atmosphere (like the top of a mountain for a stream of water), as it flows towards the engine it passes for example the MAF (a dam in our water example), then through the charger, those two items are then upstream, (once water's gone through the dam, the dam is upstream of the river). that is my understanding.
  10. unbelievable,i guess a roll cage is only neccary if you're intending on 'making use' of its features .
  11. m8, this is a big problem you got with ur engine, you'll need it fixed properly ...good luck, i dont think its probably cheaper to buy a s/h engine though, its easier to re-chain/tension it replace valves and check the engine over, rather than buying a s/h high mileage vr engine which may die the same way....just food for thought.
  12. if wd40 is flammable, then you have to be really crazy to use it on the coilpack where you have sparks coming off it...think lads! itll catch fire m8's!
  13. you cant get rid of the MAF, it will cause poor drivability and the car will not idle properly. Putting the maf upstream will confuse the ECU (after charger)...thats what the vf guys told me because i didnt want to elongate the maf wiring.
  14. taking badges off my mk2 with the hair dryer worked.
  15. chains look like they have jumped, change tensioners and see if valves are screwed. FYI for people, if you car stops with a THUMP and you turn it over you are screwing it up more.....try it once and leave it.
  16. hehe i had fundoing that,
  17. this thread belongs in the events forum m8, but i'll be there too .
  18. if you want tyres fitting too, try just tyres in milton keynes if your close they are good.
