  1. just thinkin of something different, I love all hte mod cons of the mk3 Highline, but my cabs just sitting there all standard and screaming out for something leary! The mk3's sat on the ramps at the moment, and i'm waiting for the 83.5mm wiseco piston set to arrive, the bottom end is undergoing a complete rebuild and balance. I just got thinking whilst its out and i have two vr lumps, two cars that dont get used regularly, why not play with the idea of 1 mentalist motor. I will probably be selling the polished schrick at some point so watch the forums! the charger is staying! and so is the Nos

Just puttin' the feelers out to find out if: a) a vr6 lump will go into a mk1? - I have been told so but would like to clarify with the VR crew. does any one know of the mods required to do the conversion? c) what do you guys & gals think?? I would be obviosly returning my mk3 highline to near standard and selling to fund the project. I have a near mint H reg mk1, with full electrics and just had a thought (like you do!) as my engine has been sat on the workshop floor for a few weeks... !amazed
  3. i'm also looking to upgrade my gearbox, any 1 know if the seat 6 speed is compatible? i'm sure i read somewhere that it had been done...? either that or a quaiffe 6 speed for 2k. 6 gears has to be the way forward though, especially for motorway driving!
  4. This time of year, the suns not too hot, buy a bull terrier, leave food and water and relax... on a serious note, wheel clamps are excellent! and disconnected plug leads are a simple option.

  6. I know what you mean nerih! when i can hear it above my exhaust like stood at lights itsa bit like a badlywired amp! but to be honest, you'll miss it! mines having more work done and it's only been gone 2 weeks! Its a noise that is only known by people that are fanatical about vrs!

  11. Nerih, that is a pretty cool setup! What dials are you using?? Where are you fitting the injector? Have you run it up yet??? you are giving me ideas!!! - & thats a bad thing!
  12. Yeah, I had a double head gasket, when the top end was built. Have had major problems with the bottom end running 12psi boost! still i was expecting something to go wrong and should have got it done rather than rushing it back in!!. Lucky i hadn't introduced the n20.!! At the same time shes in the workshop, i think i'll put my standard cams back in. - what ones are you running nerih? oneday it would be good to have a meet up with two mulbery sc's!
  13. Hmmm decisions.. The car is now at the workshop, and they are removing the lump this week. I have to decide where to go by weds. Being charged, i think the 9:1 ratio is best, and already being a 2.9, the 83's. I will pm rob at ultimate tune and see if he can get the 83.5's cos i dont want to have to remove the engine again!, What's the general concensus on balncing the crank? obviously funds are now getting scarce, but again i dont want to have to pay another

  15. Can any1 reccomend a supplier of uprated pistons and rings? I think the time has come to start the bottom end!
  16. I think that'd be the vaccum line for the ecu! had a major prob with mine due to that fiddly little bugger!
  17. i think i've cooked my lambda! my air fuel gauge goes mad! but only after the 2 mins when it switches! is there any way of testing ? the black wire is the o2 sensor/signal wire is it not?
  18. me too! cutting out, juddering and more backfiring and flames then when warm! lol! hopefully get snorted by the weekend!
  19. Sound pretty impressive trackman! Mine is mainly used on sprints at the pod and castle coombe circuit, however i am desperate to work it on a few other tracks! Do you just run it for fun or on competitively?

    Agree with Claire & Nerih really! I neglected to state that my vr isnt my main car and therefore i can get away with any problems that may occur! and believe me, they do happen! Sprints up at the Pod tend to be less stressful on mechanics, providing you dont push your motors limits. As far as insurance is concerned, I think HIC are the only road insurane company to be able to offer track and event insurance but they dont cover nitrous powered vehicles (bummer!)! !sad
  21. coil pack??? then go to ecu? not sure what outputs to look for on connector though? If any one knows that may also help me out?
  22. my car has had an intermittent fault like that. Just a possibility, but check the 5 core plug connecting to the coil pack. the brown wire on ine had overheated and consequently was making a poor connection. causing engine to turn but not fire. It also caused some other strange elec. faults!. but its worth a go!
