Hey all Just a quickie to help me decide what to do to my golf next, does anybody know the prices for a) a six speed box fitted & inc vat a schrik fitted, mapped & inc vat c) a supercharger fitted & inc vat Just thought i'd ask before i started ringing around. p.s. where is stealth located cos AMD is a bit far away from me (i'm in bradford-AMD oxford) Cheers for any help given

Mine's cheapest with adrian flux £1155 tpft withall mods declared. HIC could only do £1400, brentacre wouldn't quote for some reason.

Hey guys, this may be a stupid question :? but how much has your insurance gone up after fitting the shrick. Cos thats the limiting factor with wether i go for a shrick or a 6 speed box

I'm up for a group buy on shrick's or superchargers, I've about £1500 saved at the mo & don't know wether to get the body work sorted to perfection or make it faster

I know what you're saying mat. I'm starting to think modding cars is begining to be pointless, but i can't help it. What does everyone think to 6k ono? Bearing in mind there's 5k of mods on it!

I'll only have about £2k to spend, but i don't know if it's worth spending it on the golf. Big power & fwd don't really go. Besides i've just got a company van & won't be doing as many miles in whatever car i end up with. My golf stands me at £11k to date & i think i've got to draw the line somewhere.

It looks like i may have to put it up at £6.5k & start negotiations from there. It's either that or spend the cash i've got saved on some more engine mods (need more speed) & keep it forever. lol!

Hi all! Just after a bit of info, My golf is a 96VR6 with 98k on the clock. It has 7.5 x 17 OZ canyons, Koni adjustables, Eibach ARB's, Ram-Air ind kit, Miltek exhaust, sports cat, AMD re-map (212 bhp & 202 lb-ft) Turbo groove discs & greenstuff pads, M3 style rear lights. It also has full service history (serviced at AMD 3k ago) usual electrics (windows, mirrors, sunroof) & air-con. It has one minor dint on the drivers side rear quater panel. Would £7k be too much to put it up for sale at? It's not definate yet, but i have a hankering for a skyline Any help would be great. Chee

I don't know of anywhere around that area. I'm in bradford & decided to get mine done at AMD, it's a long drive but the test run up the A43 on the way home was worth the miles. The re-map completely changed my car, if you haven't alresdy changed the exhaust & filter i'd advise saving for them all & getting it done in one hit.

Mine ticks aswell, but as far as i can tell it isn't a problem as it's been there since i bought it & it's been serviced twice in the time i've owned it.

Last nite some guy in a new cooper s decided he wanted to showoff to his gf when he pulled along side me at the lights. U know the thing, revving the engine, edging forward. Lights went green & i wasted him all the way up to 100mph (40mph road oops! lol) stopped at the next lights & he just pulled in behind me, didn't want another go. Don't think he apreciated being beaten by an old Preg golf! -
I,ve just renewed mine. 23, 2 years no claims, clean licence with all mods declared. £1200 from adrian flux tpf&t. Thought it would be cheaper this year!

I have a miltek with an oval tailpipe. Looks good, increased the power on mine & sounds incredible above 3000rpm. At normal cruising speeds it's only slightly louder than standard, it's only when you floor it that it gets louder.

I've left mine on the softest setting & the ride is just about right. Quite firm, but only harsh on very bad surfaces, also depends what tyres you're running. -

I have absoloutly no idea because mine were fitted at AMD, but there were no aditional costs on the reciept though. So i think they're standard but i could be wrong. This is probably no help to you at all. lol

I've got a ram-air ind kit on mine, it's been on about 6 months now & i'm happy with it but when the engine geys warm (about 5mins after setting off lol) you can tell it's dragging alot of hot air from the engine bay through it. Might try one of them BMC carbon ones but thiey're a bit expensive. I suppose it's all down to personal choice & what sort of engine spec you're going for.
