I got some from german, swedish & french car parts. They are mk4 look in a mk3 shell. I think they were £180 for the pair, I' not convinced by the quality though they keep steaming up!
When my car was at AMD they renewed the front engine mount with a vibratechnics one. It helped a lot but it's still not very good. Changing the oil may fix the problem but if not it will be a re-build for me.
I dont know what version pads i'm running speedo. I went out in the car this morning & there was terrible juddering from the brakes & it'd only been stood over nite. I'm gonna bleed the system in the next week & see if that helps. The rears are new with only about 4000 miles on them. (standard vw discs & pads)
I did exactly the same, but at least my car wae at AMD so they put the EBC stuff on. I was well gutted cos they were the only things i really wanted doing. &|
I found they lacked pedal feel & were basically crap. Most of my driving is on fast b roads & the standard ones just couldn't cope, maybe i'm just too heavy footed? lol
Thanx. You lot seem very clued up, i wish i'd have found this site when i bought my new wheels. I picked 7.5 x 17 instead of 8 x 17 & the brembo 4pots wouldn't fit so i had to change to turbo groove discs & green stuff pads. Don't reckon much to them though.
So if i want to go down the new cams & head it'd needs a piggy back chip? or should i supercharge it? Heard the mpg goes down the pan with a charger though.
I think they re-mapped the standard ecu, i don't really know. The cat seems to be great, but as the one i replaced was knackered i don't have a lot to go on. All i ca say is it's a totally diffrent car from when i dropped it off!

Koni adjustables all round with Koni springs & Eibach anti roll bars. Handles like a big go-kart but with 17's they're very harsh on anything that isn't smooth, but who cares when you can keep up with a 300zx round the twisties?
The gearbox on my golf is the same. Sometimes takes 2 or 3 atempts to get first. Once moving there's no problem. Also reverse is an absolute sod to get, thought it maybe the clutch so had that changed & it's still the same. U say changing the gearbox oil helps?
I had mine re-chipped at AMD along with a miltek exhaust, Ram-Aid induction kit & a sports cat. Mine came back with 212.2 BHP & 202.7 lbft of torque. Now she struggles for traction!
