Cheers again wilko, deffo be giving that a try mate - good tip my freind Can this tyre stuff be used for other black trim, like other tyre blackening products? just out of interest

  5. You lucky mo fo, not many blokes are lucky enough to have car friendly girlfriends... If I hear the "You care more about that car than you do about me" line one more time thats it!!!...
  6. The swap shops don't take wifes unfortunately Im doomed to be sticking to the speed limits for the rest of my matrimonial life lol... Another question actually, what do peeps use to shine their tyres up? ive tried loads of things, but they all seem to go dull again when they're dry - anyone know of a good tyre shine that gives that constant nice shiney wet look?
  7. LMFAO - ive got one of those too, of the wife variety... i get a row if i put my foot more than half way to the floor, so you can imagine the look on her face when I drop into 2nd and floor it @ 40MPH with a type R up my @ss ..... the joys.
  8. Well mines standard, no boom boom in the boot (unfortuately ) and no coilovers (yet ) Just annoying as feck rattls! TBH though, i do think the majority of them come from thos little lock buttons in the doors, little b@stards! Anyone know if you can buy thicker ones that take up almost the full hole, maybe then they wont have as much space to move around?
  9. Or does everyone have annoying as f*ck rattles from inside their VR? I have to say, the most annoying ones for me are the rattles that come from the lock buttons/pins (that pop up and down inside the door cards?) They make the most annoying little rattle, think ill bung some nice yelloe plastacine on them to shut them up! Anyway, pointless thread, but had to get it off my chest lol...
  10. Im am seriously tempted to use magnatec oil, I can hear the metal on metal when I start my car in the morning and cringe at the sound, magnatec would hopefully reduce the damage being caused... bad reports put me off though - bit of a dilema!!!
  11. Must be a VW thing, I had the same problem with my N reg polo - every time I got into the car it stank like farts, turned out that my carpets in the passenger side rear were soakin and seeping through to the front Just last week, I noticed a few days in a row when I got into the VR the same "pumpy" smell was lingering aboot. Flippin nora, back carpet a bit damp So looks like the VR has the same problem. Wonder where its coming from though, since its in the passenger side ?
  12. Thanks a mil for all of the replies peeps, appreciated BTW, if there's anyone in the West Lothian are who wants to meet up, let me know. Reason being, I've always wanted to see how my VR compares against another standard VR. So if anyone's in the area gimme a shout - remember we can only plant it up to 70mph tho
  13. Yes mate, its always been the same... it seems to take an age, once shes wound up its all good fun, but the pick up in 1st is hurrendous. Maybe a rechip/remap is in order

    MPG

OK, i put my hand up... i drive my VR very conservatively sometimes... and on 20 quid I would get about 180 miles (i think.. ) ish, @ 32mpg
  15. Anyone got any idea what could be causing my car to be slow on pick up. Its worst in 1st gear, i can plant my foot, full throttle but the car hardly starts moving till im over 2-2.5k RPM Not the best.... is this normal? thanka all
  16. If you still have them by the time I have money I'll take them lol...

    Any good?

thanks for the reply vdubgirl, thought everyone was dead for a minute there lol... How do you find them, any worse than the standard ones?.... just asking because, even though its prolly my imagination, I think Ive had some kinda power drop since they were changed.... car doesnt wheelspin at times when it would have before.. not that I like wheelspin, just think maybe lost some power???
  18. sorry to hijack the thread guys, but just a wee quickie here... how much would I be looking at for a decent adjustable suspension set-up? cheers

    Any good?

    Fav Colour?

I have a silver VR, which I love. However, I would have to admit that I do prefer Black and mullberry in that order.... those are just stunning colours. I would also like to point out though that mullberry, as gorgeous a colour as it is, doesnt seem to look anywhere near as nice with similar colours on other cars. Yellow can be the same actually, looks great on some cars, poo on most! lol........
  22. The wee clio will give you a good run up to @80-90 ish but then you should waste him Well, onthe saxo bit! lol... I've had a go against a saxo VTR and a VTS. The VTR was on a seriously rainy night (i mean swimming pools lol) coming off of a roundabout.. well, I saw him go for it so I planted it in 2nd.... I was a spec in his rear view mirror before my wheels stopped spinning lmfao!!! Because of my lack of traction i had to play catch up before I scudded past him at @115. The VTS issue however is different, very differnt. I had a go against one a couple of weeks back. Let the little b@stard pa
