yeeha replied to eViL's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering

I wouldnt bother about being original mate, I think they look the doggies and you should pop for them IMO. I'd have a set in a second. Im looking at getting a set of Azev A's, been looking at them for years!!! Aint that cheap tho -
Cheers to pedrox as well.... some nice lookin wheels on the go

Ta dood.

Six, can you point me in the right direction for any websites that might sell deep dish 16's? cheers mate

I think I'll just get my 15's refurbed actually, or maybe even find some nicer 15's (those multispokes are just too hard to clean!!!). I could get a package on 15's for not far off the total coast of tyres/refurbing the std ones anyways - then use them for the winter

I have the smae dilema mate. I think 17's on a VR look the absolute b0lloks, and would love a set - and considering it'd be about 150 for refurbishing plus new tyres (say another 160 ish) im over 300 quid - so why not just get a 17 wheel tyre package for a coupla hundred more? Answer: Im too sh!t scared that my acceleration will be totally out of the window. I mean the gearing in a VR is already fooked up, throwing a set of 17's on there aint gonna help matters much The debate goes on.........

To adjust the height of my front bumper? It just seems a little lower at one side than the other, would like to level it if i could Cheers all

Mines a 96, and has rust on the drivers door, bubble on the tailgate etc, pain in the ass - seen a fair few rusty ones in my time
-
I know it's a bit off topic (sorry) but one thing Im not too pleased about with the my VR6 is the rust. Ive seen many a MK2 with no rust at all. You'd think the 3 would be better than the 2 as far as bodywork is concerned, but im not so sure........

lol @ kev... In all honesty, I think diesel is gonna be king in a couple of years, and will remain so for a very long time. As acf said, the noise from most TDI's is still a big trun off for most (myself included) but they're getting quieter all the time, soon they'll be nearly as quiet as a petrol....... wouldnt mind hearing that A8 V8 kev!!!

Thanks people, put my mind at rest

Well, I kinda thought that mate, but any Ive seen seem to fall a little shorter of the bonnet than the standard units i.e. a little more of a gap between the headlight and the bonnet? i could be wrong, just looks like more of a wee gap to me! [ Edited Thu Jun 03 2004, 03:42PM ]

Aye, can quite believe it matey!

For a start mate, you aint used to driving s diesel - you need to get used to a totally different way of driving. Next, its only 150BHP yes, but EASILY tuned to a good tad over 200BHP, and something crazy like 300 lb/ft torque. We all know that in the real world torque is the daddy. OK, you might not keep up with an M3 top end or anything like that, but you'll EAT most things mid-range (and I mean you'll destroy them!) and all this with 50mpg? Oh, the added bonus is that you've also wiped the floor with some jumped up Paxo driver with his burd in the passenger seat laughing at him while he cho

Will they still fit MK3 headlights if you have the MK4 style ones fitted? Im assuming they will, but just want to check! thanks peeps

acf8181, they do exist - it's called a TDI.... lol
-
six appeal, out of interest dood, what did you have done to get to 204.9BHP, before the shrick?!!! Thanks mate

I could easily beat a tuned WRX in my standard VR with wobbly suspension..... into the field that is! lmao
-
I agree with eat this, the fact that a car based on "old" technology is still holding its own (to an extent) in its class is retty good going - i think anyway. As mentioned though, Ive raced civic type r's on the straights from 40mph upwards and theres nowt in it. Not had the chance to try against an RS yet, but now that there are 3 in my little town I can see that happening at some point in the near future lol..

Hmmm... mixed responses! Thanks people. I think the best Idea would probably be to swap the two back ones to the front (cheers acf ) and see what happens there first, just out of curiosity. The back tyres are a wee bit kack i think but at least they're the same. On the front at the moment I have a Dunlop Sport 2000 and some other sh!tty one, cant remember what it is tho... Hope it's nothing too serious Thanks again to all who replied

hmmmm..... thanks for the replies guys. When I have a bit more cash to throw around I'll get the same all round, or at least on the front - kinda on a tight budget just now Appreciate the response

Ok peeps, this is a strange one... When I brake, the car seems to pull slightly to the left - but when accelerating under full throttle and the revs really kick in, the car seems to pull off to the right a bit.... I dont get it! any ideas as to why this may be happening would would be appreciated.
