  1. Yes, can definitely agree with VR6si, they are a small outfit, but in this case this means a better level of service (IMO)than you may get at a bigger company?.
  2. I have now fitted mine, used the existing holes in both the wing and hinge, easy to do in the end as the supplied bolts with the struts fitted exactly into the existing holes, so this must be how they have been designed to fit. Easy when you know how.
  3. Dave very nice mate, as you say will benefit loads from lowering.
  4. I have just read this post, again as I have just bought some Supersprint bonnet struts. I know the strut attaches to the wing via the relevant bolt thats already there, but on the bonnet where does it go? i'm guessing it could use one of the bolt holes where the hinge attaches - correct??? help, anyone? :?
  5. Guys Cheers for the advice, still deciding on design at the moment, quite like the deeper rim though, may go for something by 'FK' or 'ATS' etc. :?
  6. All I am starting to think about getting some new alloys and just wanted to know if I will have any problems if I wanted to fit 17" x 8" wheels with a 205/40 17 tyres? my car has been lowered aprox 30mm. Thanks.
  7. Its a hard fact but all good things must come to an end, even if they have a VW badge, the roof chop was quite severe though, maybe an inch to far!, LOL.
  8. Andy I have just had the Koni/Eibach setup fitted, and find the handling is great, I would say that with the state of the roads around Oxfordshire sometimes it feels a bit harsh, but then on good roads the car just gives me so much more confidence. The big downside is that the rear shocks, can not be adjusted on the car!, (they are adjusted by rotating the damper so many turns) I am still fine tuning the set up to find my preferred settings, & also with additional tracking etc (which i am informed needs to be done a couple of times until everything settles). Would definitely recommend t
  9. I have found the standard horn on my VR6 to be only slightly louder than a knats fart (sorry, really quiet for any foreign members on here ), which is not very handy if you need to let people know your there, quickly, is this common?
  10. Glyn, How good do they look!! i have to say i think they are much better than MK4 lights myself, when RHD examples are available i will be buying some. how much better would you say they are compared to standard, for seeing with?
  11. acf8181, the car is a 96 P reg, sounds like good advice just thought an upgrade would be the way forward? standard setup, compared to some cars i have owned is very good though.
  12. I will soon need to replace the brakes & discs on my car and would like to change from standard items to something better? maybe cross drilled or grooved etc. Any ideas? &|
  13. Yeh, i think it could be the new shape, but any shape is bad. Still i am having the car because the bodyshop is not that local to me, however i am going by a recommendation by another VR6Golf memeber (vr6si) - i work with him so know the work he has had done is good, there are some cowboys out there!
  14. vdubgirl, Looks really good, still a pain that its got to go back again though! I have had to book my car in to sort a small area of surface rust on the OSR wheelarch, this will only take a couple of days which is bad enough, but also the courtesy car i'm told is a nissan micra! Ahhhh &| - what a come down.
  15. I have just ordered a set of Koni suspension and Eibach springs, and was thinking i should also change the Suspension top mount bushes at the same time, Venom Motorsport recommended sticking with standard bushes as the polyurethane can be too hard, has anyone had to buy the standard ones lately, just interested in the cost? any other opinions on this would be uesful.
  16. Had been trying to find info on the VR6 Golf for a while before buying one, i think i came across a reference to the site that had been posted by someone, not sure what i was looking at at the time though.
