  1. Well you've posted this on every VW/audi website known to man! Have you checked for air leaks, especially in the exhaust system area, possibly around the joint between the downpipe and cat, and the Lambda probe itself? Jules
  2. Hi, Been Googling for 02A LSD's to see what else is out there for us. Seems to be three other off-the-shelf LSD's for the 02A that I can see (interestingly no mention of any of these on the vr6oc forums...): 1) Kaaz - this is a clutch type (i.e. true) LSD - 1.5 way - costs about the £550-£600 mark. http://www.kaazuk.com/ 2) OBX - this is a helical LSD - 2 way (?) - and is said to be a fake Quaife with poor build quality, cost about the £250 mark(!). Check eBay or Google for a seller. 3) Phantom Grip - this is an LSD conversion 'insert' for your existing differential - 2 way - cost about £2
  3. Regarding the squeel - it could be anything - alternator, water pump, power steering and AC if you have it. However, its most likely to be the charger idler pulleys. If you have AC, there will be one of them, else two. Replace these first. Jules
  4. Hi kev, Thanks for the replies. Is that a Cartech FMU? Cheers, Jules
  5. Kev, Good work - we are all looking forward to seeing this in the flesh! 1) Do you have any close up pics of the oil feed adaptor on the filter housing and also going into the turbo? Where abouts did you place the oil pressure restrictor in the feed line? 2) ..and also the oil drain set up to the sump? Interested to know how this was done and how close the shafts run to your drain tube. Did you use a clear drain tube or a braided one? 3) How have you plumbed the water feeds to the turbo - did you just use the old throttle body feed? 4) Can you explain how you've managed the fueling as it is no
  6. sparkz - how much did you pay for that manifold? Can you send me a link to where you got it from? Jules
  7. Ahh - wonder who makes them then, and where? Jules
  8. OK - but the R32 gearbox will have the transfer box for the rear drive - unless you are thinking of going 4WD? Just been googling, and cannot find much info on gearbox codes - does anyone have a good link?? It looks like the 2WD version of the 02M is used in the Audi TT (180bhp) and the A3 at least... ? Can anyone confirm that this holds true for UK cars? Any others its fitted in with 2WD? Jules
  9. You are talking about the 02M, yes? Jules
  10. ..and unless he's changed it, which he could have done, thats deff a mk3 AAA engine - cos the later MK4 US engines had alloy sump pans. But like I said, it could have been changed. Jules
  11. Mmm confusing - see this link on vortex titled "02m / o2m 6 speed into mk3 12v VR6 (56k very very beware)": http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2633108&postid=33637808 From what I can see, the 02M bolts up OK, just that you have to frig the shafts and mounts. But it appears to bolt to the engine OK?? Jules
  12. I think the 02M used in the Audi TT fits. Can anyone confirm? This comes in various flavours which I believe include a 6 speed front wheel drive (non quattro) version. Jules
  13. So what have you already tried? I mean, have you checked the fuses for example? Cheers, Jules
  14. Is that an Audspeed exhaust manifold? www.audspeed.com This guy also advertises on ebay in the USA. Jules
  15. Has anyone had any experience of those eBay specials that are being advertised at the mo? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110055415930&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D110055415930%26fvi%3D1 Are they just a pile of kak or what? How much are people getting the Schimmel manifolds for in this country? Jules
  16. if you have any leaks in the exhaust BETWEEN the ENGINE and CAT - this will most certainly affect running. The reason is that, believe it or not, the leak will actually be letting air INTO the pipe which messes up the LAMBDA readings being sent to the ECU. If the ECU thinks it sees too much OXYGEN - it will ADD fuel. Get your exhaust sealed peoperly and try again. Jules
  17. If your battery has an inspection cover, open it and peer into the battery and see if you can see if the plates are furred up. batteries eat themselves if left flat. Next, I normally remove the battery completely when doing thermostat housings - it gives you a nice line of sight and some extra working space - assuming you did the same Nik, you might want to double check the battery terminals for tightness/cleanliness. Just take them off, give em a clean and then nip them back up again (not too tight mind - they can be delicate). faling that, just work methodically round the connections to the
  18. Pete, Site still crashes with server errors and requires me to hit re-load several times before the page actually loads. Jules
  19. Pete. 'tis broken again - since this morning, when the email come through, it seems to have lost all formatting - carraige returns are not there and everything is strung together. The form link is also just plain text and not clickable anymore. Jules
  20. ok - good - now I know that you know what you are talking about - if you see what I mean....! Yes - it sounds like a problem. I have ARP head studs and have never experienced anything like this. It sounds like either is not been torqued up right, or maybe there is damage to the head which is making the bolts not sit 100% flat? Either way, you could be weeping oil into your water, or combustion gasses into your water - so be careful if you drive the car as you could do some damage if its not fixed - like blow your coolant hoses or heater matrix for example. Jules
  21. right - start at the begining - do you mean head studs? A standard VR6 doesnt have head "studs" - it has allen style stretch "bolts". Or has yours had upgraded "studs" put in? ARP? Raceware? Post up a pic - you might be talking about the cam cover studs (on early VR6's with alloy cam cover) or bolts (later VR6's with black plastic cam cover). Jules
  22. Pete, The subject title is coming over as: [forum] '', Forum reply from The VR6 Owners Club i.e no topic title, and the body comes over as: Post: The VR6 Owners Club. Post made: Tuesday 24 May 2005 - 12:46:55 Posted by: i.e. no postee Cheers, Jules
  23. Surely I cant be the only one that sees the page jump up and down everytime the adverts at the top change from one thing to another!?!?!? ITS REALLY REALLY ANNOYING!! Oh - and still getting very slow forum page loading and many server errors happening...... I know...... whinge whinge whinge..... Jules
  24. Yes - hands up - 100% - I have exceeded the limit on lots of occasions since the points. But certainly not by so much and deff not in such public places as before - like the M1 - which is where I got my 6 points (all in the same week so I didnt know till they all came at once in the post). You have to understand, that when I got the 6 points, I knew that the next 3 points took me to 9 - at nine points its a court appearance. That shook me up a bit. Never been to court before. I can honestly say, that I have slowed down since the points. (edit: oh - and I've grown older by years which prob hel
