    fuel pump perhaps? a friends driver did the same thing. reason your rev counters going nuts is cause the engine is stalling.

    yeah, the first too steps are probably not essential...but i'd rather be cautious when it comes to explosive devices.

    its ok, i didn't expect many good comments...i'm happy and thats all that matters, only reason i posted on here is that some of you guys know me quite well and i thought you'd be interested. i wasn't keen on the colour at first but its growing on me actually....its a bit bluer in real life. andy - yes, from a driving point of view it is serious fun. bit slower than a vr6 in a straight line mind. things that have impressed me so far is the responsiveness of the steering, the susp is the perfect compromise between comfort and handling, and the road holding is pretty decent as well considering it

    -disconnect battery -leave for 15mins to decharge -undo two allen bolts on back of wheel -remove bag carefully, do not drop, and store upright -undo centre bolt and remove wheel

    cheapest option is to source a second hand one in the same colour as yours already.

    well, its held to the 'box by two 13mm bolts, and the hose is attached to it with a 10mm i think.....just simply swap it over...then bleed the thing (must use an easi bleed)

    you don't need to, but its a safe move i reckon. i heard that obd2 bolt will fit in obd1, can't confirm though.

    funny how sellers always say that (such as the mr2 owner i spoke to the other day, when i viewed it the car was faded loads and had some dodgy repair!)

    if you're planning on keeping it a long time import it, as it can be hard to find a decent vr6 in the UK, the prob comes when you wanna sell it....you'll find it tough to find someone happy to have a lhd.

    -rubber fuel lines as mentoned above -rubber vacuum hoses that go from TB to carbon cannister -have you overfilled it? you can get vr's to leak out the tank vent hose if you try cramming too much fuel in (not that i've done this or anything!)

    yeah...its just crap tbh! i've yet to hear of a good fix as well.....prob is if you get a quick shift kit you just end up 'beating' the syncros on every gearchange apparantely. maybe look into using a 02j 'box from a mkIV V5? still cable but a bit better.

    i just put a deposit on a k plate mk2 rev2 uk n/a mr2 last night yeah, mk1 does suffer from rust, but is a hoot to drive, and mk3 is the hairdressers one really (my mates thinking of gettng his wife one actually)

    yeah, if the cops gets let off cause he has special trainig, then surely i can use that excuse? (i have had extensive tuition at silverstone race school) lol as for top speed, i've seen 152 indicated (on flat, and still going!)...on a test track of course.

    coilovers come with bumpstops, normal springs and dampers tend not to. just cut about 30-40mm off the o.e. stops i reckon.

    maybe get a garage to do a coolant pressure test whilst you watch....shoudl be easier to see precisely where its comin from. i wouldn't expect it to be out the block if you have no running probs, so don't worry too much.
