16 thou is almost 0.5mm. ALOT further than i'd ever let an engine get worn. The block with 7 thou wear, I'd personally get bored.

A good head spacer in a good condition engine will hold on to 500hp easily. Precision is a good brand.

That's upto you. A lot of people rate the pt stuff. Especially the 6262. The yanks do about 500 on stock internals before it starts too go bang. Yeah 8.5 is good.
