cabrioman 6
As a few of you may remember i was looking at starting my own company a few months ago and i am now seriously looking into start this up now in the very near future .... I'm thinking about becoming a mobile mechanic but specialise in VW Golf VR6`s .... so my question is how many people off here would use me as a company to come fix, diagnose, repair or service there VR6 ??? i would also work on all other makes and models but mostly VR6s .... would also travel for the work but would need to look in to cost etc for far flung places ...I would have a set price for servicing and major repairs IE clutches, chains, engine rebuilds etc etc all other work would be diagnosed and quoted ....I am being serious about this so would be very grateful of all feed back cheers Tony
craggsy 91
I would for the stuff im not 100% confident in doing myself. But wouldnt you need the use of ramps for some jobs?
cabrioman 6
for some jobs yes it is easier to use a ramp/lift but can do most stuff with the aid of jacks and axle stands if i can do chains and engine rebuilding my drive I'm pretty sure i can do most jobs not all but most jobs
VR6Nat 9
I 100% would use you and have done for the last year anyway. Everything you have done has been spot on and I wouldn't go to anyone else.
bungy 2
All credit to you mate for thinking it through and it sounds like something you really want to do. Have you considered renting a ramp for the type of work that most would need to pay for. As you know i've put a lot of thought into a garage and would ideally like to rent out ramp space. Trouble is i'm not ready yet. I hope you do well.

b19drg 0
you got my business mate , you could always look at people like me who are far away if a few in the area need stuff doing you could stay for a few days and work in B+Bs into the quote , failing that i got an acre garden that you can pitch a tent. biggest problem is finding a techie that is reliable and knows his way around the vehicle , my mechanic is good if i tell him i need x done but fault finding becomes an expensive buisness ! Good luck mate im sure the whole of the VR6oc will be right behind you ( in a non gay way of course ! )

soul-2-soul 3
Tony you know my thoughts on this. Go for it with a decent plan, hard work & your mech. skills you cannot fail. If your cut out for it working for yourself is much better than being at the mercy of other peoples decisions. It can be hard at first but when done correctly you will look back & wonder why you did not do it sooner.
jesterwalker69 0
I would definately use your services again mate. As said by others its SOOOO hard to find anyone who knows their way round a VR6 up here. I also wouldnt mind paying extra for you to come up here and even put you up for the night if needs be!
