Update

Ok i was due to swap my TT comps for a set of Porsche D90's then buy adapters seperately, however the night before due to being knkacered and a rock sticking out from a wall i managed to do smash my passenger wheels....

So i decided instead of repairing and swapping id have as an early birthday present a full repair and colour change, the boys at Wheel Wizards on Par Moor, St Austell did a brilliant job, can't find where they've repaired at all! and im really happy with the colour choice...

so here goes....

Also got new dice valve caps from "joe4" from swdubs, with lockihng crews, could'nt use my old high rollers as they were so big they scratched my wheels!

and finally a sticker lol, don't know hoe long this will last but at the moment i'm really liking it. Thanks to wyatt_adam from swdubs for this one :)

Ok so some updates that have happened over the past few weeks

Recaro Interior

Sourced some full leather black Recaro "Colour Concept" seats from a member of the swdubs forum. paid £250 but this was after winning a sub and selling it for £175 so really didn't have to pay out too much.

There is minor damage on the drivers bolster which i will have repaired but i am considering re-trim options for next year anyways.

How i drove home from Somerset

Not pictured are also the Leather door cards and Leather rear bench. Feels much smarter inside now whilst still feeling very OE

Plates....

Well a trip to Newquay recently got my car some attention from PC Plod, who kindly advised me thata my numberplates are illegal.

Given that i have points on my license i decided legal plates are a must. Bought a set from local Halfords fully standard UK legal. i actually think they suit the car better!

Tyres

On the same Newquay trip it turns out Mr PC Plod spotted my low front tyres... woops. I decided an order for 2 new fronts was essential. Went for a pair of Falkens in a 195/40. This meant i should have a little stretch as falkens are known for it and the 195 width on a 7.5J rim.

The Results

Exactly what i was after! a bit of reasonable stretch on the wheel. I think it looks cracking, so another 2 of these will be ordered for the rear shortly and some spacers :)

Engine Bay

One thing thats always been key to me is to get the engine bay looking neat, with a set colour scheme. After calipers etc i decided Black and Red would be the way to go. After previously painting my engine cover satin black i painted the lettering Red and also painted the dipstick handle and oil cap logo.

I also finally fitted my Red HT leads and NGK iridium plugs. makes such a nice change with the leads and the plugs definately needed doing.

You can also see the 80mm ITG foam Filter, don't know if this will stay or be replaced with a standard airbox with panel filter? Could also do with suggestions on what to do next with the engine bay?

Finally a sticker... lol. After a mates sticker on his civic... i decided i would copy him lol. Got a friend to make me up the same in Red. Looks awesome i think. Just need to relocate the tax disc lmao

Right this is overdue for an update tbh, theres only been a few minor changes but they make a decent difference i think

Rear Bench

After a scrappy visit i found a Golf with highline leather fitted, these have full black leather, less buckety fronts but have headrests in the rear which the recaros don't. After a quick word i managed to arrange swapping my non headrest and slightly worn rear bench and a fiver with the mint Highline bench! haha!

Also note this wasn't even intentional, i was just after the heated loom and switch from this car, which they ended up chucking in free! So now i have recaro fronts, highline rear bench, and fully heated with independant controls on the dash switch!

Havent got any pics of the heated switch but heres the new bench

Tail lights

For a long time i've had fitted the red/clear tails, these are rather common but ive always felt didnt quite work on the car, so i managed to source some CL lights, tint the tops red, fit a strip of lamin x smoke film to the centres for home made Red/Smoke/Red lights.

These work sooooo much better and i feel really change the cars look

Door Pins and horn push

A couple of tiny changes, fitted a Porsche silver crest horn push... i know i know... not a porsche etc... but i like it :)

Also fitted High Rollerz door pins! Theyve just started making these direct fit for VW's so i bought a pair, random as hell but i love them!

Also have a standard airbox on the way, this will have a panel filter fitted, other upcoming plans are arch rolling, stretched tyres out back, camber, and new coilovers for uber lows as my coilies are a bit fooked... however the cars low enough to do this to my VR splitter....

and finally some whoring... which i haven't done for quite a while actually!

couple of minor updates....

Standard airbox fitted, will have a panel filter as soon as i get a chance

a better picture of the High Rollerz door pins

22102010407.jpg

Cleaned the wheels inside out, cleaned the calipers, cleaned the coilies and wound them down for more lows

22102010402.jpg

Which resulted in me no longer being able to reverse in my drive without scraping the ground... might have to park on the road!

Will get some proper pics of the ride height when i can, gunna try and get it as low as possible whilst still just about drivable over this weekend.
