Still waiting for my Emerald back with wiring diagram, still waiting for my seats, nearly done my downpipe, but until the ecu is back can't really do alot.

The long 'to-do' list is very short now so just doing a few odd jobs, but nothing major.

Just want it to run!! Grrrrr.... (i'm not the most patient person at the best of times :-) )

Thanks for the support anyway chaps! Much appreiciated :-)

400bhp would be good when tuned, anything above that would be good! Interested to see how much torque i get out of it too.

Managed to finish the downpipe, and lag it today.

Cheers mate, and that offer still stands, when i can get it running!

Having a few issues with the ecu atm. Can't seem to get a signal from the crank sensor, the light on the emerald stays red while cranking, and not turning green like it should if the ecu is receiving a signal.

I've checked and double checked all the wiring, but i had the crank on a +12v, rather than the +8v emerald said, would this have fried the crank sensor???

LC-1 is wired in, calibrated, fuel is in the tank, pumps all working and priming, the ecu reads all the info from TPS, MAP etc, so i'm bit worried!

Would Camberly Auto Factors stock 1 on a sunday?

Love this thread and thefact that it's another local lad! Team south are gonna be strong next season ;) thanks also for the fly wheel fella! I'm definately gonna put my name down for a spin up the 32' if that offer still stands :)

Team South is definately looking strong and next year will be awesome at the Pod and general meets if we convoy.

Team south!! I love it :-)

Think i've sorted crank sensor, it needed an earth rather than an earth to the ecu.

Its been trying to start, with the occasional BANG (like a shotgun going off!) but just won't fire up.

Any ideas???

Silly one I know' date=' but the vrs' timing is real easy to get out..?

[/quote']

ignition timing? On a standard VR id say it was impossible to get wrong as you can't adjust it unless you can flash the ECU.

but with a standalone you need to program in your own settings as i know you can play with it when your tunning ignition advance for turbo on boost or what ever

Well i think i've played with the settings too much, and it didn't help with the initial crank signal problem becuase i was playing with the settings while i had no signal.

Almost got there, but it just won't start!

Does anyone know what angle btdc it should fire on?

And yes its standalone, emerals k3 ecu, so everything is adjustable.

Yeah my Peter Russek manual says 6 - 7.5 btdc, but it wouldn't fire on that.

Really at a loose end, spoke to emerald today and there sending me another map and ecu configurations so i can start from the beginning, again!

Just want it to run!!!
